Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Kathie M. Josephs
The first page of the story offers a mini biography of the main character which sets the stage for what follows. I must admit that this is the first time I have heard of the super hero Flash but I sure like him. Captain Cold creates an ice storm right before summer vacation in order to rob an armored car. He succeeded, but before he could go very far Flash comes toward him and much to his surprise he passed him and continued on yelling he would be back. Captain Cold was shocked and didn't know why Flash kept running. Is it possible to have two villains in the same city at the same time? It sure is. Meet the Icicle. Captain Cold wants him gone so he creates a flu so bad that everyone will know did it. Then TOP enters the story—yet another bad guy. All I can say is Flash sure does have his hands full. The story is clever, full of excitement and interesting to read. Both boys and girls will enjoy this book. At the end of the book, the author includes a mini biography on the author and illustrators, a glossary, discussion questions and writing prompts. This book is perfect for both school and home libraries, and it would make a wonderful gift.
