FIVE STARS! "A guiltless pleasure of a read with an absolutely fantastic plot full of action, romance, intrigue, the open seas, treachery - it all worked together to keep me entranced! I can't remember how long it has been since I have been so in love with a group of characters! This is one of those stories that stays with a person for a long time. I could go on and on and on about all of the things I love about Captain of My Heart or you can just read it for yourselves and see what all this fu

So far my favorite of Danelle's heroines! Spunky, impish and just plain amusing! Cap't Brendan wasn't so bad himself. I loved the sneakiness & the loudness of the Ashtons. As annoying as they may be to neighbors & unsuspecting Irish sea captains it also was hilarious. The story is not only an amusing ride but an emotional one! I kinda read it outa order but it still rocked!

I rarely give 5 stars but I feel like this story had everything. I typically stay away from historical books because of how slow and boring they are, but I'm glad I took a chance on this one. If the book is accurate to the late 1770's then I learned a lot about boats, which I found fascinating. But the one thing I loved most was that it was funny and the Ashton family is outrageous. There were all kinds of emotions throughout the book and a lot of action scenes. I was engaged the entire story and I didn't want it to end. Will look for another story like this one from this author!
