CHAPTER 1
Radio beeps: Capt. Sonny, we need you to take a ship to sea. Over!
Capt. Sonny: 10-4. Over!
(Do you know that 10-4 means 'OK'?)
Charlie: What are you doing, Cap'n Sonny?
Capt. Sonny: I have a job taking a ship to sea so I'm packing my sea bag.
Charlie: You're going all the way to the sea?!
Capt. Sonny: Don't worry. When we take ships 12 miles into the Gulf of Mexico, we get off the ship and come back home. But we call it 'going to sea'.
Capt. Sonny: And this bag is called my 'sea bag'. I take it with me on every job.
Charlie: What's in there?
Capt. Sonny: I keep things that I may need while I am working.
I have a radio that I can use to talk to other ship captains.
I also use it to talk to your grandmother when she comes to pick me up.
I keep my windbreaker in here in case the wind blows harder and the air gets cooler.
I also have my binoculars so I can see things far away.
