Children's Literature - Krisan Murphy
Students, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, are the true detectives and ultimate heroes in this full-color edition about the adventures of the hypnotized underwear-clad principal. As the story opens, George and Harold play another one of their sneaky antics. This time it is on the cafeteria ladies. The outcome of the baking soda/vinegar explosion is that the school cooks quit their jobs. Conveniently, three aliens (who land on the roof of the school building and are waiting for this type of opportunity) are hired by Principal Krupp. The result is disastrous. The naughty alien cafeteria ladies dish up potions that turn the school’s students and faculty into evil lunchroom zombie nerds who will assist in taking over the world. George and Harold narrowly escape the schemes of the evil-doers. Principal Krupp is inadvertently called into action as Captain Underpants by a finger-snapping alien. Because of their keen thinking, George and Harold are able to save the world from certain doom and Captain Underpants from being eaten by a giant plant. This edition includes several unique flip-o-rama pages and original Tree House Comics Inc. adventures drawn by the heroic middle schoolers themselves, George and Harold. For fans of Captain Underpants, this colorful edition will be a welcome respite full of many chuckles. Reviewer: Krisan Murphy; Ages 8 to 12.
