Became a very good story after she and nathan were on nicholas's ship and then got better after the storm. Why glory didnt tell the captain that nathan was her brother at least while they were on the island ill never know...except i guess the book wouldnt have had so many pages....spoiled brat was gloria at first.

Its a historical romance set in the south... about a spoiled girl who meets a captian rouge...her father tries to get nick to marry his daughter . Someone who can take her in hand so nick meets her 19 th b-day ball. But nick doesnt want a women that is spoiled with every man at her whim..plus he doesnt trust women..they own a plantation with slaves and they have a dirty little secret so when something happens to her father she flees to nicks ship and ask him to help her get to ny to her aunts house ..nick helps her..but they fight there passion..jelousy and alot of mistrust and heartbreak...there ship sinks they end up on an island for 18 days...get rescued..then mistrust comes in and scandall breaks loose..and nick flees leaving behind a women he loves and does not trust and a child he knows nothing about. Couse he thought she was in love with another man( her half nigro brother) then nick returns to find out he was wrong. by this time she is shunned and for being the captants tart. She pretends to be a widow and moves. Now nick is back and plans on making it right she is about to marry a man she does not love for the baby......nick storms back in her life and she hates him for leaving her couse she thought they loved each other and didnt know why nick left her..he stops the wedding and blackmails her into marring him.....nick thinks she will come around and he gives her time..then heart break agian and mistrust....she fights her love for nick all the way...for a rogue like nick who didnt trust women or want to marry or fall in love he did a grat job of proving himself to her......great story..

First romance novel i have ever read 17 years ago. And to this day, remains one for my favorites.
