Meet the Author

Bertrice Smallhas written thirty novels of historical romance and two erotic novellas. She is a New York Times bestselling author and the recipient of numerous awards. In keeping with her profession, Bertrice Small lives in the oldest English-speaking town in the state of New York, founded in 1640. Her light-filled studio includes the paintings of her favorite cover artist, Elaine Duillo, and a large library—but no computer as she works on an IBM Quietwriter 7. Her longtime assistant, Judy Walker, types the final draft. Because she believes in happy endings, Bertrice Small has been married to the same man, her hero, George, for thirty-eight years. They have a son, Thomas, a daughter-in-law, Megan, and two adorable grandchildren, Chandler David and Cora Alexandra. Longtime readers will be happy to know that Nicki the Cockatiel flourishes along with his fellow housemates, Pookie, the long-haired greige and white, Honeybun, the petite orange lady cat with the cream-colored paws, and Finnegan, the black long-haired baby of the family, who is almost two.

Susan Johnson is the award-winning, national bestselling author of the novels Hot Spot, Hot Legs, and Hot Pink, among others.

    more from this reviewer

Robin Schone's story is a gem

The first three stories---those by Bertrice Small, Susan Johnson, and Thea Devine---I could have lived without. Filled with purple prose, characters I found impossible to like or care about, melodrama, and a surfeit of ITALICS, they seemed more a waste of time than an enjoyable escape. So the three stars I've rated this book are entirely due to Robin Schone's story---a tender, honest, moving example of the genre. I had no idea erotica could be as romantic and poignant as Robin Schone has written it, and I'll absolutely be looking forward to reading more of her work in the future!

Captivated me from the first page.

I thouroughly enjoyed this book. I liked all of the stories, but the sumbissions by Beatrice Small and Thea Devine were my favorites. If you are looking for lots of romance, genteel love scenes or a warm, fuzzy feeling, this is not the book for you. However, if you are looking for a jump start to a fantastic evening then pour the wine, grab your partner and hold on because these pages are sizzling hot.

    WOW

I am a BIG fan of Beatrice Small and Susan Johnson's work. I love the 'FULL' romance writing style. Beatrice's Arabian style is outstanding. This eritoc writing style is my favorite. When both are in a story, it's a 'can't put it down' success. 'Facinated' was sold out when I went to buy it, with 'Captivated', I was so upset. These stories are so well written, there is no way to mistake the writing for poronography. They write with such class and decorum you just fall into the 'captivating' stories. If you enjoy these arthors, this book is a MUST!!! I hope they do many more just like it. If you haven't read all of their books, YOU MUST GET THEM. Especially, the SKYE O'Malley series. I can't wait for the new books to come out from all of them. MORE! MORE! MORE! And ,THANKS!!!

    Wonderfully Written.

This was the first time I've ever read an erotica book. I loved it. I couldn't put it down. Don't hesitate to read this book. It's well done and very romantic. I was glad to see that these authors got together and came out with another book. I'll be looking forward to reading Fasinated next!

    I am hiding this book!

I am a big Beatrice Small fan and buy all her books. I usually love them, however, this book was to much, to racy, to sexual. I feel like hiding it!

If all you want is to read a porno...

The only reason I gave this any stars at all is because of Bertrice Small's story. I've been reading romance novels since I was 13, and I'm surprised I could still be shocked. I read only certain romance authors because I enjoy the historical element. I applaud authors who do a little research into their time periods and come up with interesting plot twists and intertwine their stories with real-life historical personages. But for Bertrice, this was pure smut, with a little narrative thrown in to make some sense of all that sex. If you want intelligent, entertaining stories with sex thrown in to give it a little spice, stick with anything Bertrice Small writes.

Great Book but Kinky Sex scenes

This was a great book, however, if you are not into heavy, kinky sex scenes between our heros and heroines. Read with Caution. This book is definitely Rate R. R for Racey, Rewarding, Rapture
