I was excited to try out a new author but as the book went on it became more difficult to get thru. (Not due to writing, just do to emotional sircustances these two found themselves in.) I thought at some point the main character Mylan would realize his treatment of Celiese was uncalled for and his mistaken deception would be forgiven and everything happy would result. I was wrong. It was just heart tearing the treatment he put her thru thinking she had decieved him countless times and lied to him. In this day and age you did what your master told you or you died. In her case he should have seen the results of her saying no and what she would have gone back home to. It was a long drawn out book with some really great parts and then some parts where I wanted to throw my nook at the wall because I was so angry with the way they treated eachother and believeing the worst in one another, more so Mylan than Celiese. It was good but not great. I consider it an Ok read.
