Completely off balanced! Regan was utterly disgusting! However, Sirena was glorious! She deserved a far better counterpart. She deserved someone honorable and genuine.
Storyline was so jam pacted--bordered on the ridiculous, in fact. Had truly hoped the author killed off Regan altogether and brought in a real hero for our fabulous Sirena. Instead, the author had Regan won her heart and forgiveness effortlessly. And he was also inebriated with brandy at the time. Eye-rolling incredible!
Wishful epilogue: Regan drowned quickly. Sirena was crowned the new governor. Caleb and Mikel grown to become great men.

I first read this book when it first came out in the 1980s on loan from my grandmother. She owned the entire Captive series. Unfortunately, I cannot remember all of the title names, so can't research and find the other two books in the series. I think they were Captive Embraces and the other name completely slips my mind. But I remember the plots as if they were read only yesteray. I read all three books at least 5 times. I never tire of the story. I could never get grandma to part with them. Someday, I hope to find them all again so they can grace my library any time I feel like an excellent read. I recommend these books to everyone!
I just remember staying up all night and not being able to put the book down, nonstop action from front cover all the way through to the last page. A must read.

I first read this book when I was just out of high school. It had just came out. I didn't put it down and stayed up all night reading. I have owned 3 copies of this book and have read it so many times. I had two that were missing the front cover, so until I bought the 3 rd one I had know idea what the cover looked like. I noticed it has changed since I bought mine. I happen to have lost some boxes when moving and have come to find a new copy. This book had not one boring minute. It is non-stop action from the minute you pick it up. I fell in love with the characters. This book is a must read for anyone that loves romance. Kim H.Was this review helpful?
