Faith Wickham stepped into a dark place when she entered Killashandra Hall to care for the gravely ill Justin Devereux, Duke of Ainsley. The dark, handsome man lay unconscious, and soon Faith wondered if someone at Killashandra might be trying to hasten his death. Faith's duty was to administer his medicine, but when he called to her from his tormented dreams, she answered with her heart.

From the depths of his drugged sleep, Justin knew all was lost: his wife had betrayed him, his daughter had been killed, and his brother plotted to take his title. I loved this story, bit of the old gothic mystery mixed with one hot romance. And so many sweet and scary surprises.

This story was romantic like most of Ms Blairs stories and holds some suspense with it. This story is of Faith and Justin. Justin discovers his wife’s deceit with his brother. And when he follows them to save his daughter, his brother tries to kill him yet when the coach goes over a ledge to rocks near the ocean. The brother Vincent hires Faith to take care of Justin. Justin is in a coma and when Faith dreams she dreams of Justin calling for her. She discovers that the medicine that Vincent insists she give Justin is actually poison and slowly weans him off of it. And he wakes up. Justin and Faith fall in love and fake a story that someone in her family is ill and needs her. She gets Justin moved to her family home and they plot the uncover Vincent’s deceit.

A 200 page free romantic drama of an Earl being upsurped by his brother, and the nurse who is hired unbeknowst to her to kill him. Dastardly villan brother, sweet innocent nurse, faithful servants, little tragic girls with drama, angst, poison, intrigue, lust, and descriptive sex scenes.

Justin Devereux, The Duke of Ainsley, has to deal with cheating wife and greedy brother. When Justin believes his daughter trapped in carriage he's desperate to save her. Justin sustains injuries to his body and spirit. Vincent Devereux doesn't want to alienate Justin's powerful scoundrel friends sets about to hire a nurse by the name of Faith Wickham. Faith finds both Justin and his daughter Beth in dire need of female touch. Faith is ordered to give Justin a medicine twice daily without fail or risk Justin's death. Faith discovers that the medicine isn't good for Justin and ceases giving it to him with powerful results. Justin has far to go in his healing journey and it's a secret with dire consequences for all involved. As Justin improves he clearly believes his daughter Beth to be dead. When Faith proves this notion wrong Justin is relieved. Why does Vincent want Justin dead? Can Faith help Beth and Justin heal? Will Faith admit her feelings for Justin? Your answers await you in Captive Scoundrel. This series much like Rogues Club has captured my attention. Faith truly inspires miracles for those she loves. Justin's plight is fraught with danger at every turn. Ms. Blair's writing and characters capture the mind and spirit. I look forward to my next adventure in this series.

I like when these scoundrels! The whole series is full of interesting characters and they have a tendency to show up as a group in all the books.

The title says book 3 but the description says book 2 of 4! The author really should fix this.

It was a nice read but not as good as the first in the series. It started off interesting got boring in the middle and picked up again. All the good stuff happens in the later chapters. Enjoy

After reading Sea Scoundrel, this book was a quite a bit sadder and darker simply because of the subject matter. When a family memeber is trying to kill you slowly, that puts a damper on things. The heroine was likeable and the surprise at the end made it worth reading. But not the romp Sea Scoundrel is.

Enjoyed this book the most out of the first three in the series. I loved both characters and felt it was well written.

The story of the duke who's brother tries to kill him using an unsuspecting nurse to feed him poison that he tells her is medicine. The story of his recovery drags a little but once it gets going you can't put it down. I thought we were going to lose him and the nurses. But surprisingly she up and marries him. You'd think that would be the end but no, there's the brother still trying to kill him. The ending is kind of a surprise...but good.
