Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
A sticker on the front lets readers know that there are nine possible endings for this story. As you read the text, questions are asked and based on your response you turn to certain pages to continue the story. Most of them are pretty simplistic and the illustrations all appear to be computer generated. After trying a half a dozen or so paths, I tried just reading through to see what that would be like. It of course makes no sense to read the book that way so you really are forced to make some choices, which means flipping back and forth among the pages. The basic premise it that your father is heading out with a caravan and you want to go along. Do you ask permission or become a part of the group without seeking permission? Along the way there are a series of adventures and your choices determine the type and outcome. The book may appeal to some readers, but neither the story nor the images were engaging enough for this reviewer to place this book in the recommended for purchase category.
