Overview

Moving from African and medical episodes the author concentrates his thoughts to the English Virgin Islands between the western Atlantic and the Caribbean. His hero has given up the S,A.S,, loathing the senseless slaughter in the jungle of Sierra Leone and seeks a quiet life among the Virgins. A delightful girl is his constant companion.

Sadly horror assails him even in this peaceful place. Dealing with this effectively brings the awkwardness of police action. What a nuisance the law can be! A sailing holiday provides relief along with an adventure on the high sea.

The young lady learns the meaning of port and starboard.

Florida is found interesting, if noisy. Adventures follow them from place to place, as does a storm or two while exercising their sailing skills on return.

They acquire an efficient nurse to ease the discomforts of a malarial attack and later the happy pair are married on board a cruise liner. Wonderful fun! The reader may imagine for himself what other fun can happen among the peaceful, adventure-creating islands of the region, even to the extent of occasional violence. Conflicting emotional troubles are absent, a happy family story leaving a pleasantly relaxed sense to lull you to sleep after your busy day.
