Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"The illustrations are excellent."

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
There is a useful introductory note about the "My Readers" series, the various levels and tips for a successful reading experience. Carl has lots of friends and Mama Cat is one of them. She is concerned because one of her 4 kittens ran away and climbed a tree. Now the kitten is stuck. Carl urges the kitten to jump and promised to catch her, but the kitten is much too afraid to try jumping. Our good dog Carl has another idea, but it will still require the kitten to jump. Not the least bit deterred, Carl has another idea—he creates a tower of objects so he can be closer to the kitten. Finally he succeeded in bringing her down and everyone is happy, especially Mama Cat. The illustrations are excellent and even without the text it would be a pleasure just to look at them. As usual the book ends with praise for Good Dog Carl and his friends showing their gratitude. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
