Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Robbie Flowers
This series has a wide offering of titles that provide thorough biographies of the subjects and offer vivid depictions of the subject's lives. Carlos Santana guides readers from the musician's humble beginnings in Mexico to his present musical icon status. The author explores Santana's early family life, in-fighting that threatened the Santana band, and the musician's spiritual struggles. The author does not shy away from the slumps in Santana's musical career because it makes the reader better equipped to appreciate the resurgence the band experienced with the album Supernatural. Although photographs in this title bring the material to life, however more pictures from his youth might have better rounded out the photographic selection. Reviewer: Robbie Flowers
