Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Series addicts who worried that Gossip Girl's graduation spelled the end of the line can relax: she's still around, in a brand-new spinoff series, and her continued presence promises another generation of OMFG moments. Moving from Nantucket to a swanky penthouse in a prime Manhattan location, the triplet Carlyles waste no time establishing themselves as the ultimate triple threat, causing the reigning St. Jude's boys and Constance B. girls to fight for their Givenchy satchels, boyfriends and girlfriends on the playground of Fifth Avenue. Throughout, devoted readers of Gossip Girl's blog call her out as an imposter, inspiring responses in the snarky vein that won so many real-life readers in the first place: "All I'll say on the topic is this: people always question whether Shakespeare really penned all the great works attributed to him. But we'll never know, will we?" Ages 15-up. (May)

    The Carlyles

This was a pretty good. I read the first Gossip Girl series and I loved it! The Carlyles was intresting and I loved every moment of it. There was something always going on and I felt never bored when reading any part. I really really liked it!

    I Also Recommend:

    New Reign

Now that Blair and Serena have graduated, new queen bees will reign. Jack thinks the job will fall to her. After all, she has the wealth, the hot boyfriend, and the side kick friends. But she's about to get a rude awakening. First her father sells the house, stops her credit cards, and demands that she gain a sense of responsibility. Meanwhile triplets move into town and they have the town buzzing. She's going to have some competition with Avery over queen bee status. Her boyfriend might be interested in her sister, Baby. And Owen might be the new hottest guy around. How can her life change so much and who will win?

A new era and me scandal. I do enjoy this new spin-off series, although I miss the old characters.

    Gossip Girl The Carlyles

A totally fresh look at the world of the Upper east side,Gossip Girl The Carlyles was so good i was hooked from page 1!I think it was even better then Gossip Girl because this had all new characters instead of the ones we already knew, the characters all have their own unique personalities and the story is still told from different perspectives,I enjoyed it and would read the sequel if i have time.

I would absolutely reccomend this book to anyone who like the first Gossip Girl series as well as the tv series. These books are my guilty pleasure and each book is better than the last. You won't be dissapointed!

    I Don't Know..

i havent actually read the first book to the spin off, but i have read every single gossip girl book, and the it girl as well. i want to read them i just feel i'll be disappointed cause i'm so in love with the orginal characters, i feel like i'm betraying them by reading this lol. I don't doubt that the spin off is good cause GG and ItGirl are amazing! i actually just started watching GG, and forgot how much i loved the story line of the characters. i actually think i like the characters better in the TVshow then in the book cause they are easier to relate too. But i dunno i might give the spin off a shot.

    The Carlyles

The Carlyles is a pretty good spin-off series, but definitely not as good as the original. Avery, Owen, and Baby are no Blair, Nate, and Serena. But overall it is a fun read for Gossip Girl fans.

serena is back...which means even more problems for blair.

this book was so real. all teens can relate to it. the main character blair goes through the drama, guy trouble, family problems and everything else a normal girl teen goes through...yup this includes serena, the girl blair wants to be better then. i recommend this book to all girls in the grades 7-11th. if you like this book you will LOVE "The Clique"

    good book

This book was a really good book, it had a lot of details, it is like real life, it is a realy good book. I feel like I am in a movie, and yes I'm the main charactor. But that is not the point, the point is this author not only wrote a good book but she showed us that soon we will be going through all that drama, and the only way to get out of it is to share your feelings and not to have our feelings bottled up inside.

    My opinions

At first it is kind of hard to get used to that there is no more Serena and Blair. After I got used to it, things got a little better. I don't like the characters of Avery and Baby. I also don't like their 'or ANYONE ELSE'S' names. They are sooo stupid. There are much better names that the author could have chosen. It just really irks me I suppose. Also, this book isn't even written by Cecily von Ziegesar. It was a little hard to get into when I noticed that. I totally saw the whole Kat being initials and being Rhys's girlfriend once I saw her name was Kelsey. It was still pretty good though. I will probably read the other books in the GG: Carlyle series, but it's just different and hard to get used to at first.

    New era of queen bee

Knowing B & S has already moved on towards their lives no longer queen bees nomore until Jack became the new queen bee of the new era of the upper east side, sure she got all her friends and a sexy boyfriend with her all time like she's the HM of the UES. Until her life change when Avery moved to UES with her sister, brother and mother. she is about to take it over like her socialite grandmother does. UES isn't enough room for both Avery & Jack until one girl will become the queen bee and other girl will become the outcast by the loss of the power. Great book and hope somebody might by it and waiting for book two to come out in october.

    Oh, How I Miss S and B...

I picked this book up because I was having GG withdrawals...and it was OKAY. It's not even written by the same author! I guessed the whole plot in the first ten pages. Really. It's an okay book, but I would defintely buy it used...or borrow the book. I just wish it was better....

    MISSING OTHERS.

i like the series, i think owen must be really hot but man stealing your guy friends girl.. that's low. i feel so bad for avery, but also feel bad for jack. she needs to learn the hard way though. and as for avery she needs to be herself, and stop trying to be something she's not. but, most of all i miss the other gossip girl characters nate, blair, serena, and even.. chuck lol. are they ever gonna come back? and will blair and nate get together once again? i really hope so. can't forget the orignal characters & when are we ever gonna find out who gg is? mmmm.

It wasn't bad but still dissapointed

I was so pumped for this series to come out but i was very disappointed. I want blair, serena, and nate back. The plot isnt all that good and the characters seem a little less exciting than the old characters. The old ones did more nasty things and there was a lot more backstabbing stuff. Overall...very dissapointed
