Meet the Author

My most frequently asked question: "In what order should I read the Beauvisage & Raveneau books?"
Although the titles stand alone, these two series intertwine with some characters crossing over, and many readers enjoy them in chronological order:
1781 - SILVER STORM
1783 - CAROLINE
1789 - TOUCH THE SUN
1793 - SPRING FIRES (A Beauvisage/Raveneau Novel)
1814 - SURRENDER THE STARS
1814 - NATALYA
1818 - SILVER SEA (A Raveneau/Beauvisage Novel)
1903 - TEMPEST

My career as a novelist began when I was twenty-three, with a phone call from New York announcing that CAROLINE would be published by Ballantine Books. Can you imagine my excitement? I went on to write 12 more bestselling historical romances set in Colonial America, Regency England & America, Medieval England & France, and the American West.

My novels have won many awards over the years, but what means most are readers' messages like this one: "Your books take me to a magical world and I never want them to end." It's been a thrill to have all my novels published as eBooks (newly edited, with gorgeous new covers!). The frosting on the cake as been the release of TEMPEST, a brand new Raveneau novel, in December of 2012.

Today I live in northern California with my husband, Alvaro, in a 1930's Spanish cottage. When we aren't riding our tandem road bike or traveling in our vintage airstream, I love spending time with family, especially my two young grandsons. I also recently received a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant and feel blessed to have two rewarding careers!

    Eh

Not realistic and a lot happened in a very short amount of time. I did not understand all the times Caroline cried because Alec was cruel to her. Not once did I think what he said was mean and was confused by her saying that he was so much that I would go back and read his words AGAIN and still not see him being cruel! Bored and didnt even finish the whole book. I dont like whiney, unnecessarily emotional women characters. Glad it was free!

    Ok

This book did not keep me from putting it down. I don't like giving bad reviews but it got kinda boring and was hard to finish all 644 pages. I enjoyed Silver Storm much more. It was well written but not exciting. GJRA

    more from this reviewer

    Highly Recommend

This was the first book I've read of Cynthia's. It was a wonderful book! I love the relationship between Caro and Alec. Very romantic and real. The historical story behind the romantic story was very well done and I could picture it all in my mind. I would love to visit it all again and again!

    Great story

Caroline is a well written story that for the most part holds your attention throughout. I am a history buff but I found some of the historical detail in this storyy to be a little to much for my tastes. Overall it is a very good read.

    Classic Romance

One of the all-time classic romance novels. Cynthia Challed Wright was one of the first romance authors I picked up and thirty years later I still read her stuff. Caroline is spirted and funny, Lion is tall, blond and handsome. Once you read this one you want to read the stories for the other family members.

The start of a beautiful relationship!

I just finished this book for about the dozenth time and I remember why I love Cynthia Wright's novels so much. She writes with humor and passion and romance. But not in a way I view most historical romances, too cheesy or over-the-top.

I love Caro and Alec's relationship as well as the historical side of the book. It's the way you want your own relationship to be. Real AND romantic.

Off to read the next books in the series, yes, again, for about the dozenth time

    Couldn't Put it Down

For this being the authors first book you would have a hard time proving it to me. I look for books with strong female characters with equally strong males and this book and this series has delivered. Yes the books are long, but they never drag. They also are not cookie cutter romances the author does a great job of developing the characters to the point you would want to spend time with these charcters. For me I wanted more after this book so I bought the series. I will definitely read these books more than once. Enjoy!

Loved and Hated Caro and Alec! I became frustrated with Carolin

Loved and Hated Caro and Alec! I became frustrated with Caroline at times because she was either to forgiving with how Alec acted with someone in life or not stern enough. With Alec if he would only communicate with Caro, a lot could have gone smoother, of course, then you wouldn't have a novel - lol. I though I had the story figured out, or at least how it was going to end, but I was so wrong. The middle dragged for me, but the beginning and ending are worth sticking with this novel! I not only recommend this story, but the whole series. It is a better deal to buy the bundle. There is some love making, certainly not of the erotic type. You just know what they are doing, so somewhat descriptive but not vulgar. The romance builds slow, which I liked. You will be surprised at the ending, keeps you guessing how it will end. (ljb)

274 pgs her writing got much better after this

Wow. Ok so our heroine Caroline is supposed to be brave but really seems to be really whiny. And not curious enough considering the amnesia. But the story line was nice.

    Fair

I must have gotten a condensed version. People are saying this book was over 600 pages but the book i got was only a little over 250 pages and felt like a lot was missing. The ending especially was rushed and didnt really tie up anything. Would not recommend this version. Too much was cut out.
