Carols From Clare College

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Bradley Torreano
Carols From Clare College is a recording of the work conductor John Rutter has done with the Clare College Singers and Orchestra. The songs vary from obscure holiday gems to famous Christmas carols, all performed quite competently by the college's singers and musicians. Fans of choral music may want to give this a chance; these are some talented singers and the album is arranged nicely.

    A reviewer

I must admit from the very beginning here that I am not very old. I am only 26 years old. I grew up listening to this record over the holidays with my mom and it always brings back wonderful memories for me. Over the years, the record that my mother bought started to warp. I searched in vain to try and find the CD but had no luck. One day about 3 years ago, the classical radio station in Chicago, played my all-time favorite Christmas song called "Shepard's Pipe Carol." I was amazed!! I called the radio station in order to get the information necessary in order to finally get a copy of my favorite Christmas album. Even though I finally got the CD itself in February, I still listened. Whenever I hear the songs on this CD to this day I am brought back to the wonderful memories of my childhood. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is looking for old-fashioned Christmas music and who is looking for some lesser known Christmas music. This is truly a classic!!!!
