NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR
Emily Keane has her life all planned out. She's played by the rules and never stepped outside her box, and now she will finally be rewarded with everything she always dreamed of: a job promotion, a fiance, and a future she can count on. But when her perfectly planned world falls apart, Emily is plunged into the wildest year of her life.

From the beaches of California to Jamaica, New York, and Europe, Emily finds herself on a madcap race against time, running from an unscrupulous organ broker who wants her dead, all the while checking items off her unusual bucket list. On top of it all, she's falling in love with the most unlikely person, a man who can never return her feelings . . . but will his friendship be enough?

Confronting one hilarious misadventure after another, Emily finally learns who she really is and how to seize the day . . .

Note: Carpe DiEmily is a raunchy, fearless comedy in the same vein as the movie Bridesmaids, to which it has been favorably compared. Both female and male readers will enjoy this zany comedic adventure.

I loved Carpe DiEmily! It's a hilarious depiction of an insecure 27 year old woman, who wants to live her life to the limit after she realises that she has wasted her youth on a crappy boyfriend and a crappy job. While I was reading the book, I discovered that I have many things in common with Emily. I need to start doing things also rather than just planning things in my life. Despite her naivete and introvertness, Emily's life became more and more adventurous and that is what kept me awaitng for more. Can't wait to read part two!

400+ pages. I thought this was a cute and funny book with a twist. Will be purchasing part 2 to find out what happens to the unfortunate but brave, Emily!

I did not expect this story to go to some of the places it went. And that is GREAT! I expected to read an okay story, with annoying, but sort of interesting characters. Not so. The book suprised me by being a little darker than I had anticipated. Some of the themes, suicide and black-market organ dealing, added to the plot. It were these twists that hooked me. I liked how even though Emily is a predictable, bland person (in the beginning), she still has raunchy, catty, colorful, and crazy thoughts, that is to say, her internal dialog/thoughts are darker than some charactera who are portrayed as "boring goody two shoes". To me, it are Emily's thoughts that show her depth of character. Yes, she is judgemental, but she is also rational-but not for the reasons she thinks. The secondary characters, Simone especially were well written. However, in this first installment, Emily's hair dresser did not strike me as very likable. Maybe it's me, but I felt that he was sort of cold and judgemental toward Emily. If he had any interest in her friendship, he would have either opened up a little more (she was trying to get closer to him, get to know him better), or he would have curbed her questions in a nicer way. Some things are painful, but there are better ways to tell someone to drop a subject. I felt like he judged her, a lot, and expected her to change, but didn't really care enough to help her in a meaningful way- like he could take it or leave it, their friendship, that is. I felt like Simone, despite her own issues, was a better friend. She seemed to care about Emily and really want her as a friend. Just my take on it. I am trying to be vague, because I don't want to ruin the story for anyone. So I will end this review by recommending this book. I laughed and I cried, hard.

I've read this book in about 5 hours, so saying that I liked it is rather obvious. The protagonist is very easy to  relate to, even though she's a bit extreme and very hilarious. The book has a very interesting theme to it which I've never read before and has both sad and funny moments, especially the parts with the dog ;) I knew what was about to happen at certain moments because I read a lot of books and I'm rather pessimistic at time. I want to read the next part to complete the book and hopefully give out a good review on that too. I loved the book and I'd recommend to both men and women because it's a nice and short read. Maybe I'll reread in the summer as well as I think it's a very good summer read.

I really enjoyed this book. I didnt think it was going to be this funny. At first I was afraid that it was going to be a sad story but it quickl turned around. Emily seemed a bit petty at first, like everything must go her way. But then I started understanding how out of control someone could feel when things changed to much in their lives. I really enjoyed reading this and cant wait to get part 2. Im dying to know whats coming next.

Part one  of this book is quite entertaining, even though a little far fetched. I knew I was hooked however when I wasn't ready for it to end. Now I'm going to have to buy the set of parts 1 & 2 so I can see how everything turns out! Fun book!

In Carpe DiEmily pt 1 Emily is a relateable character who begins to outgrow her self imposed boundaries. As she forces herself to get out if her comfort zone she begins to see the world around her with new eyes. I can hardly wait to continue her adventures in part 2!

Enjoyed this book but I can understand how some people would find it offensive. If you read the whole series you can get a better appreciation from it. The premise may be a bit of a stretch but this is a story about life and life isn't always easy
