    Carrier Air Group 86

Wow! What a book. This account of the WWII action of the U.S. Navy Carrier Air Group 86 reads much like a well written high school yearbook. You will get to know not only the brave carrier pilots of CAG 86, but also the ships crew who bravely fought off kamikaze pilots and kept the WASP ready for combat action. 'Far in the night, exhausts glow, and pilots lace the air; dead, you say? It is not so, They are off your wingtip there!' I may me somewhat biased about this book, I must admit. I have, and cherish, one of the original copies which was published immediately following the war, and was handed down to me by my grandfather, a corsair pilot in VBF 86. You will enjoy reading this well written account of U.S. Navy action in WWII which is merely a small representation of the great sacrifices made by a soon to be lost generation of brave Americans.
