Meet the Author

Larry Gonick has been creating comics that explain history, science, and other big subjects for more than forty years. He wrote his first guide, Blood from a Stone: A Cartoon Guide to Tax Reform, in 1977. He has been a calculus instructor at Harvard (where he earned his BA and MA in mathematics) and a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT, and he is staff cartoonist for Muse magazine.

    Excelent!!

    When I wrote my essey in Genetics I becama all tired upp reading endless of books with only words. Then, by an accident, I got this book and everything came clear to me. Thanks Larry and Mark!!

    Great for all levels

    I have used this book in General biology, AP biology, and as a reference for myself in grad school. Great clarification for basic students, and enrichment for the more advanced.
