Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Natalie Gurr
It has been two years since Mike and Kyle discovered treasure in the Double Eagle. When Kyle appears on Mike's doorstep with a fancy 1975 Bel Air at his side and asks him to visit his sister in Alabama, Mike cannot say no. When they reach Alabama, Mike discovers that it is more than a social call. Kyle is rescuing Annie from abusive relatives and they are now on the run. With little money or direction, Mike proposes a plan: he recently read about a legendary silver coin that could be worth millions. With few other options, the trio head off to Denver in search of another fantastical coin. Surprisingly upbeat and fresh, Collard spins a unique adventure about coin hunting and friendship. Kyle, Mike and Annie are likable, realistic characters. Collard demonstrates growth from the younger characters in Double Eagle while retaining their general personas. The setting is believable and appealing to all readers, especially those with an interesting in history. Reviewer: Natalie Gurr
