While I have been wanting to read something by Kate Douglas for a long time, this was my first chance to do so. Needless to say, I was very impressed with her writing. Even though there was a lot going on with this story, I did not feel overwhelmed at any time and stayed focused throughout.
Carved in Stone had a contemporary plot with a supernatural twist which the author did a superb job pulling off and not making it sound corny in anyway. It had great character development that allowed me to connect with both the hero and heroine.
All in all this was a good story that I read very quickly and would certainly recommend to anyone interested in a hot, steamy read with a slight paranormal twist.

No matter Erotic, Paranormal or Contemporary, Kate Douglas is a Author not to be missed.
With the power of the unseen but presence felt, its a wonder these two characters fell so hard and so fast.
I was in a state of fear, shock and worry. My heart raced and wept. I love feeling emotion when I read Carved
in Stone. You'll laugh a little and tear up too! Once again, Kate took me on a emotional ride.

NUMBER OF STARS: 3 1/4
This was a pretty quick read. While not my favorite of Kate’s story it was still a good story. I like the tension between Nate & Alex. Both are stubborn and hardheaded. But Alex has been burned one too many time in the past, so she takes no crap from anyone especially men. But after an adventure up the side of a cliff, being shot at, beat up, trapped in a cave in it might be time for both of the to learn to trust. Or the both can continue to be stubborn and let their future fly away from them.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
This book is a standalone romantic suspense with a touch of paranormal.
The heroine, Alex is hired to photograph some glyphs on the side of a mountain by Nathan. The sparks start flying immediately with an attraction that neither wants along with some misunderstandings that get started off on the wrong foot. The romance builds throughout the book with a awesome and well written sex scene that had me wishing I could take Alex’s place.
The setting of the book was a beautiful and dangerous background for this very intriguing story. The suspense builds as the couple’s photography mission turns deadly as the bad guys invade their camp on a mission of their own. Then story gets even more engaging as the couple become aware of a paranormal presence inside the mountain.
The author describes the emotional is a rollercoaster of trust issues, romance and fighting between the hero and heroine very well and keeps the reader entertained.
I found the story to be a little slow paced, especially compared to the real length of time the story evolved in. And while the characters of the book are engaging and believable, I found Alex’s confusion to be a little annoying at times, but that was part of character’s emotional issues. And while I didn’t love this book as I much as I do her other books, overall, I liked this story it with its intriguing plot and mysterious paranormal elements.
