I've lived and worked in the Silicon Valley for over 20 years. I've witnessed, first hand, the meteoric rise of a number of technology success stories that are now household names around the world. And I've read many a tale of the rise (and often fall) of Silicon Valley hopefuls. But this book is different. Casa Facebook captures, in my view, that hard-to-describe magical undercurrent that one can only truly feel when living and working here.

There's a spirit in Silicon Valley where big-minded "grown ups" trust in the visions of daredevil entrepreneurs, and bet big on their ideas. Where else would you find a seemingly unassuming Thai woman turning over her brand new, multi-million dollar home to a bunch of frat boys? Judy Fusco, landlord turned author, captures not only that nothing-can-stop-me will to create, but she also uncovers the willingness of people to believe in the ideas, dreams and visions of the young. Casa Facebook provides a unique peak into the very early days of Facebook's development, where we see a very human - and likable - side of the early FB team. We gain a real sense of their tenacity and drive as well as their naiveté and youthful play.

I enjoyed reading this insider's view of the miracle of Silicon Valley. Ms. Fusco uses examples from her native Thailand where innovations and progress are made through the strength of peoples' visions, the boldness of their dreams, and the fateful help they receive along the way - just when they need it. Just when Mark, Dustin, Sean and Co. needed the space to grow FB to serve their millionth user, Ms. Fusco took a chance on them and provided them with the space, the freedom, and that "I believe in you" support that makes Silicon Valley unique. I found Casa Facebook to be an insightful, enjoyable little tale that captures the undercurrent of Karma that floods this valley.

This is truly a fascinating story, about how Judy, the author, wove her personal perspective into what came to be a mega-storm on our society, Facebook. She watched it form before her own eyes! I love how she not only portrayed Mark and the other early founders as ordinary kids relying on her personal interactions with them, but also as hardworking kingpins who wouldn’t stop until their goals were met. The supporting pictures throughout the book are great, as well as the videos. A must read for any fb fan to learn how their favorite pastime truly came to be!

    The early days of Facebook

This is a great look at the early days of Facebook through the eyes of the owner of the house that Zuckerberg rented when moving out to California. The video clips make the stories come to life. It's a fun read!

    Intriguing Story

I have been a facebook fan and loved reading this book. The story takes you on a tour of the beginning days of facebook at the original house where fb hit the million member mark. Judy, the author and owner of Casa Facebook, shares intriguing as well as humorous anecdotes of Mark, Sean and Dustin and their crazy adventures at Casa. If you want to get some behind the scenes stories of the founders of facebook, then this book is a definite must read!

    Great Inspiring Read

The author provides a great read, with personal stories and highlights of the early' days of Facebook. And the mystical house-FB connection is thought provoking. I found the author's relationship with Mark Z and the other founders--along with her insights into their lives and dreams--quite inspirational. A refreshing alternative perspective to the one the movie and other books paint. I highly recommend the book.
