Meet the Author

Gosho Aoyama made his debut in 1992 with Chotto Matte (Wait a Minute), which won Shogakukan's prestigious Shinjin Comic Taisho (Newcomer's Award for Comics) and launched his career as a critically acclaimed, top-selling manga artist. In addition to Detective Conan, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001, Aoyama created the popular manga Yaiba, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1992. Aoyama's manga is greatly influenced by his boyhood love for mystery, adventure and baseball, and he has cited the tales of Arsene Lupin and Sherlock Holmes and the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa as some of his childhood favorites.

Gosho Aoyama is surely a mytery genius. Read these books and it will overwhelm how the cases are solved, its almost impossible to figure out unless you have a mystery mastermind! The suspense is tinkling and this book is a spectacular graphic novel for REAL intense mystery fans. These mysteries will leave you questioning for the next volume!

Case Closed by Gosho Aoyama is about a 16/17 years old Jimmy Kudo, one of the best detective in japan. He can solve any kind of case. After witnessing a crime case he got a type of poison from the Black Organization. These kind of poison make his body into a 6 years old kids. In this book, he's trying to find out the organization that gave him the poison. And now his name is Conan (he can't tell anyone his real identity or else he will get into a serious problem). While he's trying to find out the Black Organization he solved a lot of cases as a 6 years old boy

I have to say these crimes are well thought out and give the reader a great sense of suspense. If you enjoy murder or just like a good mystery, pick one of these books up.

This series is so good. It combines two of my favorite things into one, manga and mystery. It also takes an interesting take on a detective, having the great Jimmy Kudo be a first grader. Highly addictive, well thought out, great mysteries, great series.

I've been reading/Watching this series for the past year, and love it more than ever. I started watching the English dub on television when i was seven, because my cousins were into it, and never really watched it again. I recently started reading the manga, and must say that Gosho's works ARE literary gold. I'm surprised he isn't a detective, but I'm glad he's not, because if he was, he would definitely have no time to come up with these creative plots & story lines. These books are as old as me, but are still so exciting! Sherlock Holmes, meet your match.

Based on a teenager that went to high school and something happened to him that stops him from being a successful detective. I can't wait till I see what happens to him when he gets himself back to 'normal'. There is also the tv series of Case Closed on adultswim, cartoon network. The manga is great!

Case Closed is brilliant, I have the first five volumes and I'm itching for the sixth. Love it, the artwork is cool (everyone knows that kids LOVE looking at drawings of dead manga characters) and Tatsuya Kimyura from volume five is AWESOME (love his hair). Only complaint is you can't really figure out whodunnit because some details are hidden until the case is solved, when Conan goes, 'WHAT'S THIS?!' or 'WHAT?!' he's found a clue you won't see until the murderer is unmasked... and isn't it odd that most of the murderers confess? But still, gotta love the series... can't wait for number six!
