Overview

Tom Carney never thought much about death until it happened. After his face hits the floor and his world fades to black, he opens his eyes in a cramped apartment overlooking the mist-shrouded streets of Afterlife, walks downstairs and enters Afterlife Investigations, a detective agency for dead people with issues. Polly, the agency�s sublimely efficient secretary, hands him his sheet of rules and tells him in no uncertain terms that he is the new principal investigator.

Tom doesn't know why he was chosen, but he can�t get out of Afterlife until he helps the other unfortunate souls stuck there with him. Considering his limited options, he takes the job.

About the Author

Case Files grew out of my early love for mysteries, Sherlock Holmes, and anything having to do with the supernatural. I combined my penchant for ghosts and detectives into one idea�a ghost detective whose clients are his fellow spirits in the afterlife.

Tom Carney, recently deceased, is very much an Everyman, thrown into a situation he doesn't understand, didn't ask for and can't get out of until he fulfills the requirements for moving on. You can sympathize with him and at the same time cringe when he does the 'fools rush in where angels fear to tread' routine. I found myself reading it (and enjoying it) just because the characters seemed like such fun people...You know SOMETHING is going to happen and you want to be there when it does.

Fun Read! Your going to love it! An interesting take on afterlife. It's a glimpse of the ghost world with an intriguing story that allows one's imagination to see the day to day life of ghosts...You learn there are limits to the abilities ghosts have in the afterlife and the adjustments one has to make after going to this realm... Friendships develop and those friends become very protective of their own as they step up to protect what's right against evil. Enjoy!

When it comes to picking books to read I am often guilty of buying on a whim...It was the title that attracted me to this book and I am glad it did. It is a great little supernatural gem. The idea of a bus station like detective agency to solve the problems of the not yet passed over, while the Chosen one has to wait for their time to go on to higher things or not, is a surprisingly good one that works well with the characters that Wolfe has created. I enjoyed it and recommend you give it a try.
