Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 2-3-This new addition to the series will not disappoint Hank's fans. The dog's hilarious adventure begins when he chases puffs of cottonwood cotton, is trapped in a runaway truck, and has his life threatened by a bull, and ends with the dramatic rescue of a family of kittens from a storm. Hank shares his experiences in a folksy, conversational tone with Drover, a mutt who provides a forum to define and explain details of ranch life to readers. Children will appreciate the humor when the author adapts familiar words to enhance their meaning, e.g., humilification. The full-page, boldly colored illustrations add to the fun. A good choice for animal lovers who are not ready for Deborah and James Howe's Bunnicula (Atheneum, 1979) and Mary Christian's "Sebastian" books (Macmillan).-Kathleen A. Funny, Great and edge of your seat fun!

This series of books are fo funny, so great, so talented and gets you on the edge of your seat at times! I have read every SINGLE book that the author has made and they are all fun and great. Even though I am a cat lover and not a dog lover, I still read this. I have 10 books so far. My favorite ones. But I still want more! I read the rest of them from the library. Sometimes I am in the room laughing and giggling and my mom comes in and smiles at me, she knows its just me reading another Hank the cowdog book. The case of the haystack kitties is my favorite one. You''l like this one too, especially if you like cats. The books that I have at home, I have read about 10 times each! Its great for kids AND adults. Check it out, you'll see.

Hank works hard at his job!

I am a Grandma and I bought this to read to my Grandsons. Problem is I don't get to read to them very often. So I am reading to myself! Hank and Drover just make me laugh and have a sun-shiny day. I have read Hank books to my son, he is grown up now, and my husband while we were in the car. One day I ran into a store while my husband waited in the car. When I came back out, he was finishing up the story. I think Hank stories are for all ages. They certainly make me smile. Thank you!
