Writing a review can some times be like baking a favorite cake. You’ve made it a gazillion times before but you get distracted and instead of putting in salt you add pepper. To say I’m a smidge distracted is an understatement because it is 7:45 Sunday morning as I write this at the RomCon Convention in Denver, CO on my iPad with my Kindle right beside me instead of my normal setup. So you have been duly warned. The set up of this book completely grabbed me from the first Chapter. I had no idea that anything like “The Event” would be the start of this book and yet it really added weight and realism which I don’t ever expect in a Sci-Fi book. So outstanding work, Ms. Mayburn. The world building is key to this story and in some ways is as much apart as the secondary character you see along the way. It impacts not only upon the inhabitants but also the way that the males of this world function in their communities and home life. So if you have gotten to this point you are probably wondering about our main characters, Casey Westfall was preparing for finals at college when basically the world as we know it changes forever. Meanwhile, on Kadothia, Lorn Adar has been given the opportunity to go to Earth to find a mate for himself and Nast, who is getting close to The Madness that consumes the males of the species if they do not bond with a woman. Let me say up front if you do not want to read male male romance then this is definitely not the book for you because while the Kadothian males seek their bondmate or Aliyah, the warriors do become blood brothers which includes knowing each other intimately. However if you enjoy male male romance then there is definitely something here you will enjoy. One of the main points of this story that made me excited was the fact that Ms. Mayburn didn’t have the Earth women just “fall in love” with these relationship. The men had to truly work to gain trust and respect from the women. Often romances make this portion of the story pass with only a whisper of a complaint from the woman and I don’t know about you but I’d need to be convinced that this relationship can work. The chemistry between these three amazing individual character is off the charts. There is nothing off the table and nothing that might not occur between them all. In other words, A-Mazing and a great glimpse into Ms. Mayburn’s work across the board. And in a little distracted manner, I bought one of her books here at RomCon and she signed it. *jumps up and down* Final Thoughts: If you are a person that enjoys Sci-Fi Romance, you will enjoy this book. If you enjoy, ménage books, you will enjoy this book. If you enjoy male male romance, you will enjoy this book. If you like all three, “Ding Ding Ding, We Have a WINNER!” So buy this book right now. And I’m looking forward to Paige’s story, Ms Mayburn. Hint hint hint. Fated Desire Publishing provided me with a gifted copy of Casey’s Warriors but nothing else was exchanged for my honest review.

The story involves Lorn and his fellow Kadothian & brother in arms- Nast and the heroine Casey Westfall.  The story starts when Casey gets a call from her older sister Roxy who is in the military. She tells her sister to get her college girlfriends and head for home-pronto. Wont say why but just said things are going to go downhill fast .The older sister tells Casey to think "Lord of the Flies" stuff and that martial law and all and to get home...and that is how this story starts off. I was drawn in immediately. I had secondary characters fleshed out for me that I wanted stories for (i.e. Roxy the older sister, kimber, paige & dawn -college friends) So Casey gathers her friends and they head for her home and make it , barely when the flare hits. 16 hours later , some intense magnetic event occurred which took down every plane and killed alot of people and disrupted electrial systems. After being up all night, Casey finally falls asleep and dreams of Lorn....Lorn sees finally that his bondmate is waiting for him and she is on Earth and this is where he needs to go get her. but he cannot take his brother in arms with him, because the hive threatens their race so he must stay behind to continue to train the troops-their race is two men to one woman whereas in on earth that is not how things are done and Lorn is aware that he must work fast and hard to get Casey to come back with him ....and that is where the pace really picks up  I couldnt put this book down. There were so many twists and turns....I didnt think I would like the SF element but actually loved it. Found it very truthful ; loved the cast of characters in this story and cant wait for the secondary characters to get their own books. Perfect summer reading. Cant go wrong reading Ann Mayburn. This is a new series by Ann Mayburn and this is something of a twist when it comes to SF in with erotic romance. Not a tired plot line; very fresh , full of magic .Cant wait to see what the next book in this new series holds. *****Complimentary copy provided by publisher for an honest review********

~ 4.5 Casey's Warriors Stars ~ Casey's Warriors is book one in the Bondmates series by Ann Mayburn. This was my first book with Ann Maybum and most certainly not my last. She captured me from the first to last page. I was sucked into the Alien world.  I don't read many Erotic Sci-Fi Romances, but this one caught my eye and I had to give it a try. I was blown away and became immersed in the world created. I liked how the author explained the cultures both of Earth and of the Alien race. This helps set everything up and build the characters and world. It shows us the trills the Alien men will have to over come to get an Earth woman to love and accept more than one man as her bonded mates. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and romance. The author did a great job writing the sex scenes which range from M/F, menage, M/M, and more. Their was one thing that I felt should have been flushed out more. The villain, which it sounds like will continue in the rest of the series, but those that don’t like the book don’t get closer on this. We are left hanging on who they are and what consequences the villain's actions will or do have. Their was one thing I didn’t really like so much. It was very predictable that the heroine runs away when she sees something that upsets her. Really lady you are on an alien plant and it’s very obvious you can feel your husbands emotions and they can feel you, so why not open up and talk to them instead of running away. This just made her drop down in my opinion from a character that could actually accept things, to a stupid bimbo. This action leads into her punishment/consequence. I didn’t care for how the author handled this. Casey's mates punish her with a great orgasms and a very very hot sex. This didn't work so much for me. I will say it was a hot and very sexy scene, but I felt it was silly to use sex as a means to make the heroine understand. The husbands/wife should talk; with cloths on, explain, and have a mutual understanding, then after that have outstanding fabulous makeup sex. Adding those two scenes together and it made them feel counter productive. Casey's Warriors is an erotica romance set in an alternate world with sexy alien men and multiple partners. It’s a steamy romance. I was so captured that I ended up picking up the novella to read and can’t wait for book two to come. *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy provided by Barclay Publicity via NetGalley with the sole purpose of an honest review. This is a great Sci fi romance. Just couple things We were teased with pyschic gifts but did not see any in Casey. Also the idea that her family could not understand she was moving to another planet and fell for silly story belittled them

Holy Hotness!  Ok, I am a fan of Ann so I was expecting greatness, but wowzers.  Crack for certain sure.  Why is the next one not out yet.  It has just enough scifi to fill my nerd brain with happy, but not so much that I feel I need to take notes on said world.  It has he emotional mating sexual tension that comes from true mates, but without having to be all shiftery (though I do love those).  It has the crazy hotness that can go with having more than one true love without going out of character.  Yeah this book was awesome.  Do not let the term "brother" in the reviews etc. creep you out.  They are in no way shape or form actually related.  Phew, right?  I know ;).  Ok, now for the most important part of this review.  Ann said we could tell her whose story we wanted next :  PAIGE, PAIGE, PAIGE.

Ann Mayburn has created a sexy new universe where love comes in all forms and is not something to fear or be ashamed of.  Polyamerous relationships can thrive because there is no jealousy due to a psychic bond that allows you to feel what your partner/s feel. I liked the fact that the relationship between Casey and her guys built slowly with them working to earn her trust. And while there is a great deal of smoking hot lovemaking in this book there are moments of great fun too.  I look forward to both Paige & Roxy’s tales. Complimentary copy provided by author/publisher for an honest review.
