Some of the starkest, most gripping music of his career.... From beginning to end, Unearthed is spectacularly good.
By anyone else's standards, Cash's leftovers equal a feast.

Great compilation of songs. Hw was a great man and even singing others' songs he makes them his own. Love "As Long as The Grass Shall Grow" with June -- it is very haunting to me. Many others bring back memories. Working with other artists right up until the very end of his life he was still a great singer. He influenced so many and will continue to do so.

for blessing Johnny Cash with the opportunity to do some of his best work at the end of his life. Cash Unearthed is a seminal entry into the body of work that was Cash's life.

Produced by Rick Rubin -- the instigator of Johnny Cash's seminal American Recordings series -- Cash Unearthed houses 64 never-before-heard songs from the Man in Black, spread over four discs. A fifth disc, titled My Mother's Hymn Book, is a complete, previously unreleased solo acoustic spiritual album. The deluxe packaging includes a 104-page, cloth-bound book; never-before-seen photographs; and Cash's personal commentary on every song in the box.All Music Guide - Thom Jurek
Unearthed is, before anything else, a monolith. It's a whopping five CDs of material, four of which are previously unreleased. The first three are outtakes from the four ...
