From childhood, I would sit every year and watch the "Charlie Brown" specials and even though the obvious attraction to those loveable characters was indeed there, there was that unique background soundtrack that made those specials even more "special". Vince Guaraldi's music has taken me from being a little boy that didn't quite understand what it was about his music that moved me so, to an adult that has come to understand that we all carry a piece of our own "music" with us. When a master musician like Mr. Guaraldi puts forth something as simple and yet as strong Linus & Lucy and it becomes a springboard to the appreciation of deeper and even more moving pieces like "Cast your fate to the Wind", I can only say that the boy that sat and watched the "Peanuts" characters with such joy and at times, sadness, as a man still holds much of the boy but thanks to the kind of moving inspiration in all of Vince Guaraldi's music, I can only say that if a bio is ever written about this great artist (if hasn't been written already), I think that the title above, as it came to me, would be just fine if I may be so bold. To all who share in my admiration for his music and talent, were'nt we lucky that Charles Schultz found his music appropriate enough for his "Peanuts" specials, and yet gave us music to enjoy as adults too, with the "child" within us still holding on to those scenes from all the specials. If I may; Thank you Vince!, I'll keep listening to your music until it time for me to move on.
