    My daughter's favorite book

My daughter loves this book and always asks to read her dictionary. She just turned two and I think it is helping her to learn the alphabet. The only complaint I have is that some of the words seem really outdated. For example, they teach them phone booth and record player (not things todays young kids will come into much contact with!) as well as some words I would consider not to be politically correct for today's age such as comparing an Indian from India to an American Indian (with a picture of the American "Indian" in full-feathered head gear). They also show a picture of a momma bear whacking her baby on the bottom to illustrate the word "whack." I skip that picture rather than having to explain that the baby was bad so mommy is hitting him. I think these pictures should be modernized.

Great book to read and teach your kids.

I bought this book when my daughter was a baby - she is now 24. It was her favorite book to sit and read together. Whenever I have a baby shower to attend, I always look for this book as a gift. Now I am ordering it for my first grandchild. Looking forward to endless hours of reading.
