About the Author

was born in an unincorporated southern California city which no longer exists, engaged in several years of semi-Herculean corral-cleaning in Oregon, and attended college in Sacramento. After being unable to find work in London, he migrated to the Bay Area, where he quit a warehouse job to ride a motorcycle to New York, and then found himself in San Francisco.

The first notes for Cat were scribbled on a Japanese doorstep, at about 3am, while heavily jetlagged, unable to sleep, and drinking warm coffee out of a can.
