Overview

Even the baby raccoons appeared huge to the cats as they shrank to the far corners of their temporary apartments at Cats Pause Feline Shelter. The felines’ one objective: avoid the invaders’ furry little hands that reached between the narrow bars for leftover cat dinner – lest they become part of the raccoons’ diet, too. Mum, save me! Mo silently pleaded to her human companion Kate, who was at this hour several miles away and sleeping soundly. Good grief! thought Kate as she sat bolt upright in bed, her head spinning, her eyes blurry from sleep. What is going on at the shelter? Mo reserves telepathy for dire emergencies, and she is most certainly sending a distress signal. Kate jumped out of bed and began dressing warmly for her trek into the Oregon winter night. Although Kate knew something was terribly amiss from Mo’s frantic pleas, she couldn’t know that a raccoon invasion had occurred at the shelter – and that a grisly murder had been committed there as well!

Meet the Author

Maureen Murphy Williams’ cat detective series, Mo the Shelter Cat Mysteries, was inspired by the adoption of Morgan, who spent three years in a local shelter awaiting her furr-ever home. Maureen’s passion for animal welfare and her love of Oregon wine country are paired to bring a new flavor to the cat mystery genre. Maureen resides in Portland with Morgan and three other rescued cats, Mona, Mac and Murphy, portrayed in Seven Oaks as the domesticated feral family of Commissioner George King.

I so enjoyed this second book in the Mo the Shelter Cat Mystery

I so enjoyed this second book in the Mo the Shelter Cat Mystery series. Morgan is inspiring as well as lovable, and this book gave us more time with the cats, including Georgia, Morgan's new charge. Touring wine country in Oregon is indeed a thrill, but Morgan and her friends' sleuthing steals the show. Of course, our friend Kate, Morgan's companion, is coming to life, and I enjoyed the interaction between the two. I'm also pleased that Kate and Charles are getting together. The author succeeds in making these characters come to life, the stories are clean-cut and the adventures they all experience kept me reading. I hope we see more in this series! If you like cat detectives with a side of pinot noir, these are great reads.

The 2nd edition of  cat detective series is nothing short of a fun read! The addition of Georgia,  Lady and Senor as feline characters is my daughters favorite. A great read inspired by a noteworthy cause. Thanks Maureen!

Don't waste your money-badly formatted nook book

This format is very irritating. Every paragraph is half a line. I know it is only a few dollars, but should have been copy edited. Shame, I was looking forward to continuing the story.

    Enjoy the story, but..

While I have enjoyed reading the two books. I feel that there is too much filler information that does not move the story along. I find myself skipping parts
