FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Hanks) made it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank was always one step ahead of him, baiting him to continue the chase.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Alternately posing as a doctor, a lawyer and a co-pilot for a major airline, con artist Frank W. Abagnale was the most successful bank robber in U.S. history and at age 17 became the youngest person ever wanted by the FBI. Catch Me if You Can: The Film and the Filmmakers documents the Steven Spielberg movie based on Abagnale's life and features an introduction by Abagnale, in which he explains the events of his life as they were filmed and tells how his story went from a talk show interview to a book to a Hollywood movie starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. The illustrated screenplay takes up the bulk of the book and is punctuated with full-color photographs from the movie. Sidebars offer perspectives from the actors, production designers, costume designers and others. Copyright 2003 Cahners Business Information.
Library Journal
A movie with as much zing and zip as its crafty protagonist, Catch Me If You Can is based on the memoir of Frank Abagnale Jr., who, by the age of 18, had defrauded several companies, banks, and airlines out of millions of dollars. It follows Frank (Leonardo DiCaprio, a 2003 Golden Globe nominee for this performance) from the beginnings of his deceptions, when he posed as a French teacher, to some of his greatest forgeries. Steven Spielberg directs, while Tom Hanks costars as the FBI agent in charge of tracking Frank and Christopher Walken as Frank's father. Spielberg's emphasis on why Abagnale committed these crimes at such a young age helps establish the character as a real person with family troubles instead of a crazed, money-hungry sociopath. Here, the complete screenplay is accompanied by film stills and quotes from the cast, film, and Abagnale himself, as well as cut scenes. A quirky and fun ride designed in a pop-Sixties style. Who really is Frank Abagnale??

This was an awesome book. It's jam-packed with cons and close escapes. Frank Abagnale schemed the US and 25 other countries. When reading this you totaly forget that this isn't a man doing all this but a kid not even 21. I liked the adventures, the romances, and even learning about some of the cool tricks of the trade that goes along with such a tricky line of crimes. Once again, i enjoyed every minute of this book from cover to cover.
