Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Janet L. Rose
Middle linebacker Jim Nardi catches the football like his hands are lined with Velcro, but as the opponent charges toward him, he freezes and drops the ball. Will he ever get over his fear of being tackled? Jim learns his older brother (and coach of their team) had the same fear when he was Jim's age. When not playing football or doing homework, Jim races model cars with his good friend Charlie Gorman. Charlie has been in a wheelchair since a car accident when he was five, but he is determined to walk again. Will Charlie's determination rub off on Jim and help him overcome his fear? Novice readers who enjoy football will be able to follow play-by-play action as the Vulcans play other teams, sometimes winning, sometimes not. They will identify with Jim and may be able to better deal with their own fears and inadequacies after realizing they are not alone. Reviewer: Janet L. Rose

    An Outstanding Book

Catch That Pass is about Jim Nardi. Jim plays football for the Vulcans in his league. During one of the games, the team threw a pass and Jim was on defense. The ball came to him and he dropped it. Later on after the dropped interception, people start to pick on Jim and that leads to the theme which is faith. Faith is a theme because Jim¿s friend Chuckie Gorman tries to keep Jim up. In order for you to know if Jim improved on his catching you have to read this book. I recommend this book because a lot of action in it for people who like action. Do you think Jim will improve? Find out by reading this book.

    a reviewer

Jim Nardi is the middle linbacker on the Cadets, a little leauge football team. Jim's brother Doug is the Cadets coach. Jim is an excellent middle linebacker except for one thing, whenever he goes up fora an interception, and sees another player on the opposing team he drops it. Doug really gets on Jim, and Jim feels really bad about it. His teamates even make fun of him. Doug used to play football, and was an All American, and Jim really looks up to him. One day while going through Dougs clippngs, and scrapbooks Jim realizes Doug also had problem with dropping sure interceptions. With this newfound confidence, can Jim CATCH THAT PASS.
