Overview

Julie Brannagh's sexy, charming Love and Football series continues …

Star sports reporter Cameron Ondine has one firm rule: she does not date football players. Ever. She tangled with one years ago, and it did not end well. Been there, done that.

But when Cameron comes face-to-face with the very man who shattered her heart—on camera, no less—her world is upended for a second time by recklessly handsome Seattle Shark Zach Anderson.

Zach has never been able to forget the gorgeous blonde who stole his breath away when he was still just a rookie. They've managed to give each other a wide berth for years, but when their jobs suddenly bring them together again and again, he knows he has to face his past once and for all.

Because as they spend more time together, he becomes less focused on the action on the field and more concerned with catching Cameron.

It's been awhile since I've read one of Julie Brannagh's books and I'm not entirely sure why. I really enjoyed the first two books in her Love and Football series, and I had a review copy of this one, but for some reason I'm just now getting to it. I'm also kicking myself for waiting so long. Catching Cameron is my favorite book in the series so far.

I love football. I love romance. I love second chance stories. Catching Cameron gave me all of these things in one delightful and sexy little package. Cameron and Zach had some fantastic chemistry when they come face-to-face during their interview. Of course, there's also a good bit of tension that I didn't really understand until the whole story came out. Cameron and Zach were definitely acquainted with each other – quite intimately, as a matter of fact – and share quite a history. But, I'm not going to tell you any more about that.

A book has to have a strong female character for me to connect with it. Cameron was definitely strong. She was intelligent and damn good at her job. It's not easy to be a female sports journalist and Cameron's struggles show this. While I loved Cameron from the start, it took a little time for Zach to grow on me. He was a little too much of a playboy for my liking, but once I got to see the other side of him, the one he's kept hidden since his time with Cameron all those years ago, I was sold. I loved their banter and how their relationship progressed throughout the book.

Catching Cameron was a fun book with a lot of heart. The premise of a female journalist being embedded in a football training camp was just plain fun. My inner feminist was outraged right along with her when they tried to change the show and exploit her personal life. But, at the same time, I loved her interactions with Zach and the other players so much, I loved the idea for my own selfish reasons. Of course, there's some drama, but it wasn't angsty and it was definitely needed to move the story forward. Sports romance fans should definitely check this series out, if they haven't already. It just keeps getting better and better and I can't wait to start Covering Kendall!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.

I adore this Love & Football series!

I'm not sure how I discovered book 1 in this series, but I instantly loved it. Book 2 was just as good. Book 3 - wow! When Cameron & Zach's history is exposed...I wasn't expecting that! This book is funny, engaging, sexy, and dramatic. All great qualities in a book. I love sports related books where the bad boy sports figure meets his match. Well, you get that in Catching Cameron.

    Liked A Lot...

Book 3 of the Love and Football Series... Complex story of two kids who meet in Las Vegas, get married and then amid a lot of story, don't see each other for seven years... He is a football player nearing the end of his career... She is a sports journalist and the story is really cute, if improbable... Loved this All Pro player still lived with Grandma and his three sisters... But it works in a fun and sexy story that was time well spent reading...

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and was looking forward to #3. Sadly, it was just not that good. I caught myself just skimming the pages so I could just get it over with. I will try 1 more book from this author before I totally give up on her.

Catching Cameron (Love and Football #3) by Julie Brannagh Sport

Catching Cameron (Love and Football #3) by Julie Brannagh

Sports reporter Cameron Ondine and Seattle Shark star Zach Anderson share a history neither have been able to forget.  They have been avoiding each other for ten years.  As faith would have it, they need to play nice, being forced to work together for the next month.

Julie Brannagh did a wonderful job with the character development, creating believable characters.  I really like Cameron Ondine.  She was very down to earth.  I liked that she followed her dreams and did not submit to her parents will.  I pictured her as a football version of Kathryn Tappen host of NHL Network.

Then there is Zach Anderson, holy perfect!  I mean seriously how you cannot love a good-looking  football star who has worked himself from nothing and takes care of his four younger sisters and his grandmother. Honestly, how sweet can one guy be.  Plus he’s tough and not a push over.

I enjoyed the plot.  There was so much going on.  Cameron and Zach needed to confront their past and misconceptions.  Plus they need to deal with their job, family, and fans (stalkers included). The story is extremely believable and exciting.

I could not put down Catching Cameron; I read it in one day.  It is another great book in the Love and Football Series.  I’m typically a hockey girl, but I do love this series.
