Meet the Author

Philip Blood is a published author, computer artist, game producer and game designer currently living in the Los Angeles suburbs. He is an avid scuba diver, a voracious reader of sci-fi and fantasy, a tabletop gamer from way back and a computer game junkie with MMOs being the top of his list. Earlier this year he published his new Science Fiction novel, zONE, The End and the Beginning. And recently he published a light-hearted urban fantasy, called Dragon Slayers, Incorporated. Mr. Blood is currently working on an MMORPG called Citadel of Sorcery, and is also working on a new fantasy series, called The Archimage Wars. Book 1, the Wizard of Abal is ready to publish, and will come out May 1st, 2016. Book 2, Sorceress of Atlantis, is already finished, and currently in the hands of an Editor. Book 3 is also finished to rough draft, and Book 4 is half-way done! I intend to publish each book in this series three months apart, all the way to the end, so no long waits for the next novel for my readers!

This was a great start to the series. The world is interesting, with a new and refreshing magic system. But the characters are what drives this book. There is a lot of adventure, humor, and great fantasy characters, all wrapped up in a plot that is just the beginning of a much deeper story. I've already finished book 2 and 3, and working on 4, but decided to start some reviews.

Necromancer's Dagger gets off to an abrupt start, but that is alright. The action, and events within this setting are credible and kept me enthralled throughout. The magic system that is used here is a fresh perspective and more credible and explainable than others I have read. The power of Life: every living thing has an aura, and some can be trained to use their own aura to affect the world. Which can be used to fight and heal, and more. Opposing this is the power of Death and Darkness, Necromancers making bargains for power from a place called the Dark Plane, where incorporeal denizens harbor a lingering hate for the world of Light and Life. The series titular metal is a little more difficult to place; that of a metal that can store imprints of its long time holder, and even their soul, if they die with an imprint on the metal. These imprints can speak to the mind of a holder of the item, if the person is not the one imprinted into the metal. The action, plots and character identification are good, and they pulled me in, until I found myself riveted to the story being told. One detraction I might point out are spacing the plot between the first book and the second one at least 13 years apart. However, this is minor in relation to the story delivered. At the prices offered it is well worth picking up for a read.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this at first, but found it full of action and twists. I'm on the 4th book now and love it

I found this fantasy series from reading a review on Goodreads, the reviewer said, "as good as Lord of the Rings and Dune.  Now, I wouldn't go that far, but I will say that his is a really fun romp through a great fantasy world.  The magic is unique, the characters are great, and the villains are diverse and interesting.  It starts simple enough, but the story just keeps getting more interesting the further into the series you go!  Though I enjoyed book one, I really thought it got rolling in book  two.  If you like big romping adventures with humor and fun, this is the series for you!  I give it a full five starts for pure entertainment.

Not a horrible book, but not a great book. I won't be continuing on with the series. Yes, we get it, the evil Necromancer has taken over the heroes body. You don't have to tell us repeatedly. Oh, and while we're at it, the heroine should have fought back from the start. A lot of good people died at the necromancer's hands because she ran for no reason. Except she would have had to kill her husband's body, and I'm sure this way, he'll get it back at the end of the series.

This story grabbed my attention and didn't let go. I found the story and the characters believable and likable. The “bad” guys are plenty and dangerous. I'm on to the next book.

I have read first 3 books and like the story very much. Lots of action. However please next set of books let more good guys die. Almost opposite of Game of Thrones where all good guys die or worse. In these stories I wished the bad guys killed a few more heroes. Otherwise a good read.
