This is a great quick-stop reference book. I have a copy of the last edition (with the stained glass rose window), which I use as a handy reference, and have given as gifts to explain the faith. It has all kinds of interesting trivia on traditions and helps give an overview of basic beliefs and church facts in practice that would be helpful to RCIA candidates (converts), or people interested in learning about Catholicism without getting buried in traditional exegesis. I have not reviewed the latest edition yet, so can't speak to its errors or layout problems mentioned in other reviews, but as someone who grew up in the faith, there's a lot I've forgotten and I enjoy its easy-to-read style.

I found this book to be excellent. I have been a Catholic for many years and found out interesting information about the faith I was not aware of after all these years. It is a go to book for most any questions one would have about the Catholic Faith. I would highly recommend it. I have read it, and will reread it again.

This is a well organized book for those with a good knowledge of the Catholic Church and its many facets and for those who have a limited knowledge. It has scripture references and catechism references. The "tabbed" index on the side of the book make it very convenient to locate information very rapidly. This is a definite "must have" for all Catholics. and for those of us that teach the faith it is a most definite "must have".
