Mick Dawson, undercover cop.
He's got his hands full with a pushy broad who claims she's just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Except all the perps seem to know everything there is to know about her. Who're you going to believe? Only one way to find out. Get real close.
Del Piper, mystery writer.
She's as confused as he is, but mostly because he's got the sweetest smile, when he smiles. Still, he's sticking with her twenty-four/seven—is this love or duty? Is he her protector or her captor?

Mick Dawson first appeared in BEGUILED, a 1999 best seller by Lori Foster. He is now grown up and an undercover cop. The object of his protective instincts this time is Delilah (Del) Piper, a mystery writer. Mick takes a bullet that apparently was meant for Del. The bad guys think Del knows something. It is up to Mick and Del to figure out what, before they kill Del.
Mick moves in with Del with the objectives of protecting her and getting to know her better. He learns that she has unusual ways of researching her books, which may be related to why someone is after her. But what is it? In the course of the investigation, Mick¿s old insecurities come back to haunt him. He doesn¿t know whether he should trust Del. Does she know more than she lets on? Is he being set up for a hard fall? The thrilling ending provides the answers to these questions.
The main characters are very compelling and likable. I found myself glued to the story wondering what was going to happen next. Plus there is the sizzling relationship between Mick and Del that readers of Lori Foster¿s books enjoy so much. Thank goodness her publisher has finally let Ms. Foster write a longer length book. It allowed her to give more depth and detail to her characters and their story, which is usually lacking in a series romance.
CAUGHT IN THE ACT reintroduces readers to characters from BEGUILED and WANTON, plus you get to meet two new guys, Zack Grange and Josh Marshall, who have their own stories coming up in Temptations, TREAT HER RIGHT and MR. NOVEMBER. I highly recommend CAUGHT IN THE ACT not only for Lori Foster fans, but for readers of hot romantic suspense with some light humor.

The beginning makes you start thinking of the hero as a stalker (turn off for me, I don't know about you). He watches her go about her daily routine on the regular. Their romance was so physical and, at first, superficial. How do you just automatically feel so much for someone you literally just met that you move in w/ them within hours of learning their name?? It just felt fake. If you want plenty of hormone-filled sex scenes, this is the book for you. As for a good story- look elsewhere.

Lori Foster is a recent discovery for me and I cannot seem to read her books fast enough! She blends the perfect mix of suspense, humor and sexual tension, not to mention steamy love scenes, that leave the reader wanting more. And she doesn't disappoint. A good book to me is when you talk about a character with friends or family as if they lived next door to you. It could be someone you like or hate, someone you want as a friend or a lover, or someone you want to protect or strangle. The point is that they jump out at you and get you talking to others about them. Mick Dawson and Delilah Piper are no different for me. Fans of Lori Foster will remember Mick from Beguiled when he was just a teen struggling to get by. Now, he's a grown man who seems to have found his match in Delilah. Mick has a past where he learned trust is a difficult thing. That is one of his struggles when concerning his intense attraction to Delilah. He's sort of blinded by lust and duty, and that plays a part in a critical scene. Delilah, who is a strong woman, speaks her mind and holds nothing back. It's fun watching her throw Mick off track, to keep him guessing. She's the type of woman you want to see Mick end up with. An intense first meeting sets things in motion with a robbery gone bad and Delilah the focus of that. Why was she shot at? Is she involved? Or is it a mixup? Mick wanting nothing more than to protect her, but what would he do if she's involved? Lori keeps you guessing till the end with a chilling scene.

Wishes do come true! I'm one of the many devoted fans of Lori Foster's books, and have been waiting ---seemingly forever--- to read her first, longer-length contemporary CAUGHT IN THE ACT. It was worth the wait! Lori's very special talent in mixing humor, great plots, and the hottest love scenes, came shining through in this book. MICK, is a hero to die for! I want a guy like that! And heroine, DELILAH, is his match in every way. There's a tense mystery as the plot and it keeps you turning pages. There's the heat that sizzles between Mick & Del. And there's Lori's 'special hot love scenes' that threaten to melt you! Of course, by the end of the book you're already bemoaning the fact that it just WASNT long enough! You'll get to greet old friends from Lori's previous books BEGUILED and WANTON. You'll also meet new heroes, ZACK and JOSH, that I guarrantee will have you IMPATIENTLY waiting for their stories! All in all, Lori has a best seller with CAUGHT IN THE ACT, that devoted fans will devour, and new fans will become addicted to!

Devoted Lori Foster fans will all remember Mick Dawson from the wonderful Beguiled. Mick is now all grown up and works as an undercover police officer for the Vice Squad. Mick and his friends Zack, a EMT with a 4 year old daughter, and Josh a fireman are sitting at their favorite restaurant discussing their favorite topic (women). While arguing over their favorite parts, Mick spots the woman who has been haunting his dreams for the past 2 weeks. He sees her going into a jewelery store and decides that this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce himself. He soon finds himself in he middle of a botched robbery and with a gunshot wound meant for her. Del Piper was stunned, she thought heroes only existed in her mystery books and never thought she would meet one in person. Mick was every bit as good looking as her heroes. He is determined to protect her from whoever tried to kill her, even though she thinks it was just a robbery and has nothing to do with her. I like so many other rabid Lori Foster fans have been wishing for a longer book by our favorite author and finally our wish has been granted. Caught In the Act more then exceeds our wishes. There are the usual things you have come to expect from a Lori Foster book, great hunks, hot love scenes and humor, but also adds a mystery as we are drawn into why someone would kill Del. Del is also a great heroine, she is strong and feisty and comes straight to the point about everything. The reader is torn when Micks' feelings and trust are put to the test and how will it affect his relationship with Del? Caught In The Act also sets up the upcoming books for Zack and Josh. It was also a thrill to revisit with Dane, Angel, Alec and Celia and see they are even more in love then when we first saw them.

The publishers have finally listened to the readers and given Lori Foster a bigger book to write. In this book, Ms. Foster introduces us to three friends for the reader to fall in love with. Caught in the Act's hero is a policeman. I can't wait for Treat Her Right's paramedic and Mr. November's fireman.

## This story was fabulous. The connection between the two leads was undeniable. I adored the heroine. There's nothing that makes a story better than a strong, sweet, beautiful, honest heroine (although i do think she forgave the hero to quickly after his betrayal). Fun and sexy, this is a must read! After this one, be sure to read Zack and Josh's stories.

Fantastic read! Loved all of the characters, especially Delilah. I really liked the fact that you did not spend the bulk of the book reading about two people fighting an attraction or just not liking each other. Exciting from beginning to end.

Although this is a good book by Foster the publish date of 12/27/2010 that is listed for this eboo is misleading. This book was first published in September 2001 and was then included in the ebook Enticing by Lori Foster in September 2007 along with Casey Buckhorn's story. I bought this ebook thinking it was a new release by Lori Foster only to find out I already purchased this in the 2 for 1 ebook Enticing. I really hate buying an ebook I alreay own just so Harlequin and BN can make an extra $3.99 so buyer beware! This is a reissue of a previously released ebook!

As I find with more and more with contemporary romance books that I read, I find that women are more frank and aggressive about satiating their sexual desires, as well as their lover¿s. It appears that the modern day man, ¿Samson¿, still desires, respects and appreciates this ¿Delilah¿ of the 21st century. Although the ¿Delilah¿, Del, of ¿Caught In The Act¿ is a true seductress and even brazen at times, she is not a prostitute nor deceitful, but a successful mystery writer unsuspectingly caught in a real life murder mystery. The ¿Samson¿, Mick, of our story is mouth watering sex personified. Mick is an undercover detective (and Del¿s secrete admirer) whose shot while trying to protect her from being killed during a deliberately botched jewelry heist. Delilah feels obligated to personally express her appreciation to this unknown man who would so easily lay down his life for hers and ends up inviting him home with her ¿ so that she can play his personal nurse and look after him. As you can imagine, he gets more than what the doctor prescribed... LF has a good balance of romance, playfulness, sexy, mystery, danger and suspense. Everything about this book is fast and furious ¿ raw passionate lust progressing into a respectful and endearing marriage.
