Overview

Jonah and Katherine come face to face with Albert Einstein in the fifth book of the New York Times bestselling The Missing series. Jonah and Katherine are accustomed to traveling through time, but when they learn they next have to return Albert Einstein's daughter to history, they think it's a joke—they've only heard of his sons. But it turns out that Albert Einstein really did have a daughter,Lieserl, whose 1902 birth and subsequent disappearance was shrouded in mystery. Lieserl was presumed to have died of scarlet fever as an infant. But when Jonah and Katherine return to the early 1900s to fix history, one of Lieserl's parents seems to understand entirely too much about time travel and what Jonah and Katherine are doing.

In my opinion, this is the best in The Missing series so far. ----- As with the previous books, I will not summarize Caught because I do not want to spoil the surprise. I will simply tease you with the following quote: "Of course, how good can our plan really be, Jonah thought, when it relies on outsmarting one of the most brilliant men in history?" ----- Haddix continues to amaze me with her exceptional writing and unbelievably mind-boggling skills of creating an intricate and captivating mystery. While I want her to write a novel for adults, even an epic because I don't want her stories to end, these books are so mesmerizing and intelligent that adults will find themselves sitting on the edge of their seats as well. Please don't take that as an insult to young adults. Adults sometimes want more details that would not be appropriate in a young adult novel and will not find young adult fiction to be satisfying. This is not a problem with The Missing series. ----- I almost cried at one point and 3 pages before the end of the book, I almost screamed because I thought I knew where Haddix was going and couldn't believe she would treat her readers so sadistically. Then she didn't go there. Three pages before the end of the book and she still surprised me! ----- 5 out of 5 stars.

"The Missing" series by Margaret Peterson Haddix is definitely one of my top ten. It's up there with "Harry Potter" and "The Hunger Games." Haddix has the perfect amount of suspense, humor, and mystery to knock your socks off! WRITE ON, HADDIX! ~A Mudstar Review~

Today I finished "Caught," book 5 in the Missing series by Margaret Peterson Haddix. This book took time travelers to the early 1900's and the studies of Albert Einstein and his 1st wife, Mileva. An enjoyable read by one of my favorite adolescent authors. Ms. Haddix excels at combining historical facts with present day drama and suspense.

Margaret Haddix has the best way to grab the attention of the reader in all her books! She is so good at writing suspenseful stories. After i read the first four chapters of all the books, i could not stop reading. For anyone who is interested, you should really read the series!

"Scorn escaped his cell." Rasped out the guard. Panting, she leaned against the wall for support. Confused looks only met her statement. "Who?" Glaring, she probably muttered something about she should have chosen the job at McDonalds. Or Walmart. We don't discriminate here. "One of the prisioners that transferred from the insane asylum." Well, that means no future at Dollartree either. "What kind of nutcase was he?" The room was dead silent in anticipation. "Scorn thought he was a time traveler. He also claimed a fire would destory a house of white on February 14, 2007. Never happened." I felt as if I had been punched in the gut. My white house burned down that very date. The question was how did Scorn know? And who is Scorn?

Comments and questions at gods res. 2. Thank you all who are active readers. I really appreciate it. --- we wake up in the morning and change. I keep hearing that voice in my mind. Everyone sits and watches tv while i got take a shower. Once i am done, i put on my clothes and wash my face. I use cold water instead of warm water. Then it hits me. We arent supposed to be in here. Does anyone else notice. Maybe its the water, i think. I open the door and peek my head through. "Hey Sienna. Can you come here for a sec?" "Yeah sure Jake." She responds. she walks into the bathroom. "You look like you could use a face wash." I tell her politely. "Yaa... ok...." she says in a daze. She washes it with the cold water like i did. I see her jolt backwards. "We need to get out of here." She says. "Umm... yeah." We both walk out and tell John and sam our plan. Thry finally come to their senses.--- Sorry so short will post next part by tommorrow. •JW :)
