Orphaned and torn from his sisters as a boy, sexy extreme wrestler Dean "Havoc" Conor gets a letter revealing how much his siblings want him back in Harmony, Kentucky. To stop his sister from marrying a sleazeball, Dean finds himself teaming up with her pretty-but-smart- mouthed friend Eve-who's heard of Havoc's reputation and doesn't need some hunk trampling on her heart. Now all Dean has to do is protect his sisters, win Eve over, and expose a devious criminal. And he thought winning the heavyweight belt was hard.

Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
Lori Foster brings her signature strengths -- great humor, engaging characters, and sizzling passion -- to this contemporary love story and family drama. It centers around extreme fighter Dean "Havoc" Connor, a self-reliant, rolling-stone kind of guy, whose world turns upside down with one letter from his sister, Cam. He hasn't seen her since he was eight, when their parents were killed in a car crash; he was dispatched to live with his uncle Grover while his two younger sisters got to stay at home in Harmony, Kentucky, with their aunt Lorna.

Who had the most dysfunctional upbringing? Havoc is about to find out when he goes to Harmony to save Cam from a bad marriage and rescue Jacki, the younger sister, from a downward path. His hard-wired avoidance of entanglements goes right down the drain when he meets his sisters and falls hard for Cam's best friend, Eve, who's resolutely single and more than a little bit hot. The evolution of the Connor siblings from strangers to family is heartwarming, as is the transition of Havoc from tough-guy loner to man in love. Ginger Curwen
Publishers Weekly
Orphaned at nine, Dean "Havoc" Conor has grown into a tough-as-nails extreme fighter happy to live a solitary life. When he receives a letter from his two little sisters, who he hasn't seen in the twenty years since their parents died, Dean reluctantly decides to honor their request and return home to Harmony, Ky. Once there, he finds that the aunt who raised his sisters has squandered most of their inheritance and that one of his sisters, Cam, is engaged to a sleaze named Roger. He also meets Cam's best friend, Eve Lavon, an opinionated beauty who already has the commitment-phobic Dean figured out. However, if Dean's going to drive off Roger and figure out why someone in Harmony is trying to kill him, he'll need Eve's help-and he'll have to confront his growing feelings for her. More interesting, though, is Dean's struggle to become the family man his sisters need, a transformation that Foster executes with skill, elevating the tight if typical romance plot with convincing, heartfelt family drama. A Fun Read!

I just finished this book and I really enjoyed it. I love that it ties to Lori's other books, Hard to Handle, Simon Says etc.... I really liked the characters and was a bit surprised by the ending. If you want a quick fun read I recommend this book!

    a great book

this is my 4th or so book i've read of lori foster and although i read Simon Says before reading Casuing Havoc, the book still surprised me and kept me on my toes. i actually liked it better than the second book in the SBC series. i especially loved this book because my fiance is involved with the UFC/WEC and i understood everything lori foster was talking about with the moves and Eve being interested in Deans fighting career and wanting to learn moves herself and i liked comparing myself with Eve's girly ways yet she knew when to be tough as well. although i thought she displayed Dean to be more macho then i thought he was'honestly, it doesnt seem possible that Gregor was displayed as being weaker than Dean, when Gregor was suppose to be this huge 'maniac'', but overall, he seemed like a good typical, protective brother who tried to hold his true feelings. as for Roger, i dont understand why Cam would have stayed with him..he seemed like a manipulative bastard who had way too many secrets. and Cam was way too prideful for her own good, Lorna was a evil witch, who kept Cam and Jacki's inheritance money from their parents death for her own selfish needs..not sure why Cam always took pity and said Lorna 'tried the best she could to raise them right.' i thought the love connection between Eve and Dean was very provocative and sexy. Eve and Dean came off as a great looking couple. while Gregor and Jacki's connection was a little childish, it was still rather amusing. Jacki, was a likable character, she had a lot of sass and stayed true to her values. As for, Gregor was too, with his big muscle appearance yet goofy attitude. plus the whole suspense between Roger and Dean and Dean and Lorna kept me turning the pages trying to figure out who exactly was the one trying to kill Dean off for their own selfish reasons...

    Not quite a five.

I¿m glad I read the reviews before I read the book as I knew what to expect. It was a welcome change to have a book that the point of view was mostly from the man. I also was warned that this was not primarily a love story. SBC fighter Dean ¿Havoc¿ Conor receives a letter from a sister he thought had forgotten him when his uncle took him 20 years ago after the death of their parents. As it turned out, evil Aunt Lorna who had custody of the girls, refused to raise Dean, and told them that Dean wanted nothing to do with them and that there was no way to contact him. Returning to town to meet his sisters he runs into Eve, a close friend of Cam & Jackie, who he is immediately attracted to. Dean comes to realize that he is part of a family, loved and wanted, if he can just let go of his fear of being hurt. It¿s great to see him opening up even though he fights it. Why did I give it a 4? 1. Cam was naive and rather wimpy. In spite of the fact that Lorna had been cold when raising them and had stolen much of their inheritance she made excuses for her because she ¿did the best job she could¿. Bull. 2. Roger was a mean, self-centered, manipulative, unfeeling creature. I suppose we were supposed to sympathize with him in the end because of his childhood but give me a break! Cam loving him made no sense. 3. Way, way more information about Eve having her period that I ever wanted to know! But this was a good start to the SBC series and I¿ve already started ¿Simon Says¿.

    surprisingly good

i was really surprised when i liked this book. i can't stand fighting or boxing or wrestling, even reading about it, so i thought i would hate this book and just picked it up for something, anything, to read. but i really liked it. i thought that the characters were developed pretty well. the situations weren't too outlandish. i thought this was a good, easy read. fun.

    She did it again

wow what is there to say. Lori Foster wrote yet another great book. The relationship Havoc had with his sisters even though he said he wasn't that kind of brother was great to read. The interaction with all the characters was just amazing. I read this book in about 4 hours. I felt like I was right there watching the whole story in front of me. This book is a great read!!!

    Where are the ingredients??

where are the ingredients I'm shocked with the outcome of this book, because normally Lori Foster is a great read! I kept telling myself with the end of each chapter - OKAY... she'll get to it in the next chapter -- nope, it never happened. there was no taste, color, suprise, anticipation, or even a plot really to this book. i have a bad feeling she handed in her rough draft to her publisher and they just printed it. the characters had - NOTHING! not even an ounce of attraction. the end of the book was so predictable i decided to make up my own ending and went with that. The hero in this book is so bland and dry I never cared about him. The love story was so ... boring I flipped the pages to move it along. There was just NO sex appeal the either characters. the second love story was just so - absurd, you HATE the guy and you want to smack the girl. you don't go through the entire book making someone being abusive and immoral, then making them out to be justified for it because of a lacking family life. this IMO, REALLY turned me off this book. the third love story with the youngest sister 'Jackie' was so jr. high school i felt like i was in the 7th grade cafeteria all over again. and the grown male who happened to be a male sport superstar reminded me of a much SLOWER version of Lenny from 'Of Mice And Men,' nothing was sexy about this couple. i skipped pages and pages of 'how a woman deal with her monthly period' 'WOE is Me I have no boobie's' and my favorite a '1000 things to know about a sport woman don't care about.' I read about 4 books per month, this has been the worst book I've read in about five years. Lori Foster had no personal interest in any character in this book. She practically Tells you herself while reading it. the words were lifeless and lay still on each page, nothing jumped out and grabbed me. better luck next time Ms. Foster.

    First and probably last

I've always seen Lori Foster books, and I'm continually looking for great romance authors so I decided to give her a try. I was pretty disappointed. I thought Havoc was a ridiculous character...so arrogant and so boring. He was so obviously supposed to be the typical, 'I'm too much of a man for these feelings' kind of guy, it was annoying. The interaction between Eve and Havoc was so unrealistic. When exactly did they spend so much quality time together to decide they loved each other? While they were having sex? And what about Roger and Cam? Did Lori Foster forget the kinds of things she told us Roger was thinking in the beginning? And we're supposed to see him differently in the end? I doubt I'll give Lori Foster another chance because I'm assuming since others who seem to read her a lot gave her good reviews, this is representative of her work.

    Another great story!

While I agree with all of the other reviews, only one thing about this book left me feeling as though something didn't get wrapped up. Through the entire book, Roger (Cam's sort of fiance) is a major jerk. At the end of the story, I was expecting to find out why, but it was left hanging. I gave the book 5 stars because it is a great book, I just wish that one little thing could have been tied up.

Lori Foster's Causing Havoc- was Causing Havoc!

Ok this is the first book that I've gotten from the Lori Foster book listings- and it was awesome! Causing Havoc should be the name because Dean is always Causing Havoc when he's around Eve. As soon as Eve and Dean meet its like the song 'Its getting hot in here'! And it was great. Praticly every moment had something to it and it kept you on the edge of your seat! She heats it up when it needs to be heated and puts that little touch of mystery into when needing it! And that to me is a great book any day of the week!

    LOVED THIS BOOK!

This book has all the elements I¿ve come to expect from Lori Foster: a delightful story, wonderful (real) characters, hot romance, and a hero to die for. Lori¿s stories are always emotionally engaging with lots of humor and sensuality (and of course sizzling love scenes), and this is definitely no exception. Dean ¿Havoc¿ Connor is a champion SBC fighter, used to being on his own and self sufficient since his parents¿ death at a young age separated him from his home and his young sisters. Now circumstances bring him back to his hometown where he not only reluctantly reunites with his sisters, but meets Eve Lavon who flips his world and his plans upside down with the sizzling attraction between them. Watching Dean and Eve¿s relationship unfold is so enjoyable: the chemistry between them is so HOT, and it¿s fun to watch Dean struggle with the unfamiliar feelings he has for Eve. He¿s all Alpha male, and his attraction to Eve is enough to bring him to his knees in love. In addition to their steamy relationship, we watch the touching connection he immediately has with his sisters, and the depth of his commitment to family. His brotherly protectiveness for his sisters Cami and Jacki, and their love for him lends Lori¿s trademark love of family to the story. Finally, the secondary romance between Jacki and Gregor is very well developed - (Jacki had me laughing out loud, she`s such a firecracker), and another delightful addition to the story. This story is my favorite of Lori¿s fighter series so far (but I must say I love them all!!) If you haven¿t read JUDE¿S LAW or MURPHY¿s LAW yet, don¿t¿ miss them! I can¿t wait to read more of Lori¿s extreme fighters: these are some very sexy males!! It¿ll be a long wait until Simon Says comes out in August!

Another hot, sexy read to touch your heart

Lori Foster's trademark style shines through in this story about a tough-as-nails fighter who thinks he doesn't need anyone in his life until a letter from his younger sister Camille finds its way into his hands, asking Dean to come home.---- Dean 'Havoc' Conor thought he'd left Harmony, Kentucky behind a long time ago when he went to go live with his uncle at the age of nine, but life has a way of taking you home, whether you want it or not. Since he's currently between fights and needs some down-time to recover, he decides to take some time to go see his sisters, wondering why they would want to see him now, after all this time. They had a privileged life, unlike the unconventional one he'd had with his uncle, so he can't imagine why they might want to see him.---- On his first night back, Dean stops at a bar and meets Eve Lavon, a sexy woman to whom he is instanteously attracted and has no qualms about going after. The attraction is sizzling hot and mutual, however they end up going their separate ways, not realizing their paths will cross again very soon.---- In fact, Dean discovers many unexpected surprises when he goes to see his sisters. For one, Eve is his sister Cam's best friend. For another, Cam and Jacki are not living the privileged life he'd been led to believe, nor are they the stuck-up brats he'd imagined. Instead they are both loving, loyal, hard-working young women trying to make ends meet as they try their best to deal with the aunt who raised them. Dean decides to stick around for awhile and get to know his sisters while also making time with the irresistible Eve.---- Without even realizing it, Cam and Jacki sneak their way into Dean's heart, and soon he has the family he doesn't even realize he's always wanted. He feels instantly protective of Cam, the older, responsible, loving sister, and Jacki, the wild child who is fiercely loyal to her sister. But it doesn't stop there. Dean also finds himself falling in love for the first time, and thinks that maybe the small town of Harmony might be a piece of heaven on earth.---- I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of the whole Ultimate Fighting league, but I am a fan of Lori's books and she manages to pull me into the story and has me falling in love with Dean and the other characters right from the start. Lori takes characteristics of a great fighter: honor, honesty, skill, discipline, and courage to build a strong hero who isn't afraid to go after what he wants, or to face his own mistakes head-on.---- I love how confident Dean is, how sure of himself, and how he doesn't hold back, even if it makes him uncomfortable, especially dealing with a whole lot of female issues. While this is a romance, Lori has placed more attention on Dean's family life, which shows his transition into the hero any woman would want. He develops a true friendship with Eve, the woman who captures his heart, and delights in having an earthy, intensely sexual relationship with her. He respects her strength, and isn't afraid to share his thoughts with her. But Dean is still a guy, so he's not perfect, and he does stumble through as he tries to get to know his sisters and the woman he loves. But that's what makes him so endearing, and so sexy.---- Eve is no slouch either. She's a confident, intelligent woman, and because of that, she lets Dean see the side of her that isn't always a sex goddess, and know that if he's worth her time, he won't care - he'll still want her anyway. And he does. I love how she gets along great with her family, and how she loves her friends Cam and Jacki. Eve is not just another groupie in Dean's life she wants more than just a roll in the hay, unlike a lot of women in his life. Eve teaches Dean about commitment, and about sticking it out no matter what. And that a woman can take care of herself, but sometimes it's nice to have someone there for back-up.

    Causing Havoc is a winner!

When extreme fighter Dean ¿Havoc¿ Conor receives a letter from one of his estranged younger sisters, he decides to take advantage of an upcoming lull in his fight schedule to make an unannounced visit. Dean was sent to live with an uncle after the deaths of their parents when he was nine, while his sisters remained in the family home with an aunt. Dean always assumed that his sisters were living the good life while he lived meagerly with his uncle. It turns out that he could not have been more wrong things were not at all as he had assumed. His sisters have worked hard for everything they have. On Dean¿s first night back in Harmony, Kentucky, he stops for a cold beer and runs into Eve Lavon, a beautiful, stubbornly independent woman, and is instantly smitten. Dean immediately has his hands full, pursuing a relationship with Eve, getting to know his sisters, making repairs to their house, and dealing with his own personal business matters.******Eve isn¿t looking for a relationship when she meets Dean. She is more concerned with persuading her best friend, Cam, to dump her no-good boyfriend. When she finds out that Dean is Cam¿s long-lost brother, the two join forces to protect the sisters. Dean insists that he isn¿t going to act like a big brother to his sisters, but once he gets to know them, he can¿t help but want to protect and spoil them, which is very pleasing to Eve. Eve has witnessed first-hand how Cam and Jackie have struggled, and she is thrilled that Dean is stepping in to take care of them. It¿s the attention that Dean has been giving her that has Eve confused. She¿s afraid to let herself get too connected, for fear that he will be leaving soon.****** It is heartening to see Dean soften and become very protective of his sisters. Equally touching is watching the relationship between Dean and Eve blossom. They both deserve happiness and need each other far more than either is willing to admit. Lori Foster never fails to write characters that are caring and comfortable. Secondary characters keep the story moving without bulk or confusion, and you can¿t help but hope that you¿ll see more of them in future books in this series. It is easy to give this book a strong recommendation, especially to those who appreciate a heartwarming story with an abundance of sensuality.******

    ALERT--Hot Alpha Male Ahead!!!!!

Blurb---Extreme fighter Dean ¿Havoc¿ Connor has knee-melting good looks and a hardened heart. Orphaned and torn from his sisters as a boy, he has no family and he's fine with that. Until he gets a letter revealing how much the once-little girls want him back in Harmony, Kentucky.----First, this story is not connected to Jude's Law. Both Heroes ARE fighters, however.----Second, Causing Havoc comes out February '07.---Third, there is a follow up story called 'Simon Says', coming in August '07. You get a tiny glimpse of Simon in Causing Havoc. Simon is Dean's trainer, agent, all around everything sort of guy.-----My First Reaction: 'HOT, baby! OMG!' You won't want to pass this book up. I swear to you...DO NOT walk, run to the bookstore when it hits the stands because Dean is one helluva sexy Alpha Male. I have always adored the possessive, domineering, protective, slightly arrogant type characters. Dean is that for sure, but he's also sweet, caring, tender, vulnerable and so easy to like. Lori Foster's characters are always easy to relate to. I always feel as if I know these people by the time I'm done. As if I could actually run into them on the street. They just seem real.-----A Brief Summary: Dean feels as if he's been punched in the gut when he gets a letter from his sister, Cam. He's not spoken to or seen his sister since he was a small child. Suddenly, out of the blue she wants to see him? Pleads with him to come for a visit? Dean doesn't feel as if he owes his sisters, Cam and Jacki, a damn thing! However, he does have some time to kill, as he's between fighting matches at the moment. Besides, well, he's curious about them, too. So, he goes to Harmony, Kentucky and finds...two beautiful young women?-----Dean remembers Cam and Jacki as small girls, so it's tough for him to imagine these two woman as his little sisters. Cam is the mothering, nurturing type and tends to wear her heart on her sleeve--which has Dean shying away almost from the start. He's managed to build a wall around his heart and damned if anyone's going to penetrate it. Jacki is wild and carefree and reminds him of...him. Scary thought! LOL! But before he meets them, he stops in at a local bar and runs into a gorgeous Eve Lavon. He's taken by her immediately. Sparks fly off these two from their first meeting. Just when the evening looks as if it's going Dean's way and he'll be sharing a night filled with scorching passion, plans change, leaving Dean with nothing more than a teasing taste of what could have been and a hard on that won't quit. Luckily for Dean he's not seen the last of Eve.-----This story will take you through lots of family drama and have you panting and laughing and crying...I swear it's the most emotion-filled story Lori Foster has ever written. Eve and Dean are my kind of couple. They fall into a relaxed sort of relationship that manages to be not only sensual but somehow familiar as well. Then there's Jacki and Gregor. These two nearly stole the show! I loved the way Gregor treats Jacki, making one mistake after another before finally getting it right. He's so...human and I think I enjoyed him almost as much as Dean.-----Final Thoughts: It was tough for me to finish this story, because I found myself somehow bonding to these characters. I loved Dean's protective brotherly ways towards Cam and Jacki--even though he didn't want to admit to feeling brotherly. Also, I loved all the little mistakes the three siblings made until they finally learned that, as a family all that matters is love and trust. Everything else will come. Not since the Buckhorns have I wanted to visit and revisit a family like I did with the Connors. I give Lori Foster very high marks for creating a story that I know I'll want to re'read!

    Just Incredible

Dean 'Havoc' Conors is a top notch, extreme fighter. He doesn't allow himself to need anyone. Raised by an uncle after his parents death, Dean was raised to be strong and stand on his own. Then he gets a letter from one of his long lost sisters, a sister he hasn't seen in twenty years. She needs him to return home to Harmony, Kentucky. Havoc gets surprises thrown at him when he returns home. Things aren't quite what they seemed. To add to the mix, Havoc can't keep his hands of his sisters feisty best friend, Eve. There's something about her that keeps calling him back for more. Causing Havoc is another true Lori Foster gem. Havoc made his way into my top spot for my favorite Lori Foster hero. He is a strong, determined, funny, alpha male who also happens to have a caring and loving core. Causing Havoc will make you laugh, make you sigh, and make you want more. Eve was the perfect heroine for Havoc and I found myself cheering them on the whole way. This book was sexy, smart, and as entertaining as they come. Though Dean is also an extreme fighter in the SBC, Causing Havoc is not related to Jude's Law and can be read alone. The great news is you don't have too. Simon Says, the second book in the series will be released at the end of the summer. Don't miss out on this great book.

    Emotional Romance Read

Lori has written a potent story in CAUSING HAVOC. This story takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride, where you feel a myriad of emotions love, hate, sadness, protectiveness and humour......Dean Connor, aka 'Havoc' is a fighter with the SBC and a heavy weight champion. Twenty-one years ago, upon the death of his parents he is split up from his two small sisters and brought up by his Uncle. Over the years he has never heard from his family, it was like he never existed. When he receives a letter from one of his sisters, asking him to come and see them, he is torn with his feelings towards them. Anger is the first reaction, and since he has some down time between his fights, Dean decides to travel to Harmony, Kentucky to follow-up on the letter, because he senses something in the tone of the letter. When he lands in town he stops at the bar where he meets a hot number. As soon as they make eye contact across the room, there is enough heat between them to set off a roomful of Roman Candles. Eve Lavon, is Cam's best friend, but does not realize that the male that she is so taken with is her long lost brother. It is interesting to see these two opposites so attracted to each other that they can do nothing else but act upon it. The intertwining story of the secondary characters only add more dimension and depth to the story. Readers will be enchanted with the protectiveness that Dean feels towards his sisters and how hard he tries to fight it. A real treat is the way this alpha male is so inclined to act like a big brother, even though there has been so much time lapsed since he has had contact with his sisters. There is hurt, confused feelings, ups and downs, surprises and lots of heat between Dean and Eve, but through it all there is a sense of family, which only leads to a true 'sigh' moment at the end......This is a wonderful story, showing true family values win out. Lori proves that blood is thicker than water, and who says you can't go home. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to more.
