This book is now one of my favorites. It's informational and exciting all at the same time. Gwen Bristow did an exceptional job writing this book. It's very well written.

    Great Read!

My daughter came home with this book from school. I started to read it and was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't put it down! Great book!

    Wonderful book!

I first read this over 40 years ago and still remember how much I loved it. I'm so pleased to see it in print. It's a fabulous read for a young teenager and a painless way to absorb a little historical flavor.

    A wonderful romantic historical book

I read this as a young teen and it has always been my favorite book. I lost the book when we moved a few years later and have been searching for it ever since, but had been told it was out of print. This is a wonderful story about a girl that grows up by having to live through war, romance and taking risks and overcoming obstacles in hard circumstances as she is alone in this world. I think you will like it - I did!
