More About Celine Dion

Celine Dion has long been one of the world's most admired performers. Her unique blend of brilliant talent and an unstinting willingness to share her life has defined her career in the public eye. With new interviews and special memorabilia, Celine Dion: For Keeps will invite her fans to get to know the professional and personal parts of her life as never before.
Celine Dion is a very special collection: a combination of memoir, personal scrapbook, and looking glass into one of the world's most admired lives. Drawing heavily from Celine's personal archives and those of her husband and longtime manager, Rene Angelil, this book focuses on the key elements of her life, including her family, career, inspirations, courtship and marriage to Rene, show business hiatus, son Rene-Charles, and plans for the future-everything that makes her who she is.

Produced in the successful and stylish format of last year's The Sinatra Treasures, each of Celine Dion's chapters will include removable facsimiles of favorite mementos, stored in vellum envelopes. Everything from Celine and Rene's love notes and family photos to special letters and her wedding program can be examined and admired in detail. This is a remarkable opportunity to share in the unique and vital life and career of Celine Dion.

What makes 'For Keeps' a keeper...

...is that there's truly something for everyone -- for the memorabilia-hungry collector, for the diehard fan who's followed Celine's career and life for years, for the general celebrity enthusiast looking to learn about yet another prodigy, and even for the non-fan who may find Celine's music safe or boring and her persona too sacharine. What makes this book different from others out there is that it's not a detailed recantation of Celine's amazing singing career. It's the story of a woman who happens to be one of the greatest vocalists the world has ever seen. It's about Celine, sure it shares how the music has impacted her life, but first and foremost it's about a real person who has thoughts and feelings, pride and insecurity. It's told beautifully, succinctly, and is complemented by reproductions of mementos from Celine's personal and professional life (these include a C riddled 3rd grade report card, sheet music for the song her mother wrote for her, letters from other celebrities, her wedding program, and many others). To my fellow fans, you will not be disappointed. This book was written especially with us in mind. Before she even met with Celine, the author, Jenna Glatzer, queried fan groups from around the world to find out not only why we think that Celine is so wonderful but also to see what kinds of things we were interested in seeing in the book. The sort of questions that were posed to Celine and which appear in the book are different from the multitudes of interviews where all we saw was the same boring speech over and over again. It was interesting to find out that Celine wants the same things that many of us want from her -- to record a jazz album and to do shows in smaller venues. To the general public, you will not be disappointed either. While the book doesn't go into as great depth as the earlier biographer by Germain, it hits the highlights of her career and more importantly makes you feel like you were there. You will learn about the woman behind the voice, the choices she made, the things that make her tip, and those that inspire her to dream. To the people who swear they'll never buy a Celine Dion record as long as they live, you actually might be surprised. The Celine that is the queen of soccer moms and sacharine love songs, is actually quite different from the real person. You'll get a taste of her sense of humor, her tastes in music, and her desire to write eddgier material and her fear in making that a reality. Who knows? You might actually become a fan.

    It Was Only a Dream...

I recommend this book whether you¿re a die-hard fan like myself, curious to know more, or are just looking for an inspiring read. Despite that you may already know the stories, author Jenna Glatzer digs deeper and goes further than any other biographer previously has. Céline Dion has always had one of the most open and honest personalities, but the intimate details you¿ve yet to learn are found within the pages of this masterpiece. Céline has never been more candid speaking about her career, her family, and the fans who adore her. You will learn never to underestimate this woman, who is capable of climbing higher and higher when there is no place higher to climb. She¿s reached the pinnacle of success, yet she still has various insecurities and maybe even a few regrets. After all the accomplishments she still has many goals to achieve, while never forgetting the small town girl from Charlemagne, Quebec. The little girl she will always keep inside, and desperately never wants to lose touch with. After reading this book it almost doesn¿t feel appropriate to call her famous or celebrity. Although she is arguably the most amazing voice of our time, having sold more records than any other female in history. While there are scores of fans around the globe who idolize her, Céline is as normal as anyone with her talent could possibly be. She doesn¿t want recognition, she is just happy to be doing what she loves. Glatzer takes you on her journey through Céline¿s past, present, and future revealing new aspects of this wonderful woman. You will learn not only about the performer, but also the woman, mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. A truly interactive book with little mementos and breathtaking photographs that truly envelope you in this remarkable story. An important lesson is to be learned about what is important in life, and what is most precious. With every turn of the page you will sometimes be moved to tears, and occasionally sent into bouts of hysterical laughter! But by the turn of the last page this is for certain, you will be left dazzled by the phenomenal woman that is: Céline Dion.

    Fantastic

I have talked to the author about the book for quite a while, and she has been so kind as to tell us about the book, and it is fantastic. The book has so many personal items in it. The book is also very big. The publishers tried to fit as much as possible in the book. Celine and her worked very closely together, meeting several times in Vegas, so the book is very well written and accurate. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!
