All Music Guide - Johnny Loftus
Bill Douglas is the major contributor to this, Vol. 1 of the Hearts of Space label's Celtic Twilight series. The series builds from Hearts of Space's affection for swirling, soothing new age, layering instruments like fiddle and dulcimer into the sound. They largely get it right, this groove, even if traditional instrumentation could have played more of a role. Twilight should play well with fans of the label's sound, as well as Celtic fusionists.

    I Also Recommend:

    Smooth.

I would describe this album as Celtic influenced New Age and pure Hearts of Space. It is mostly instrumental and, although some of the tracks are livelier than others, it all fits together seamlessly. A good pick for relaxation, the only reason I give it a four rather than a five is that my taste runs more towards the traditional.

Celtic Twilight: Souful Sounds of Ireland

I bought this CD as a birthday gift for a friend. We are both Irish and we both enjoy Celtic music. He has borrowed many of my Celtic music CDs to listen to while driving. He works long hours and often drives between several locations for his work. He likes the relaxing quality of Celtic instrumental music.

Most of the CDs that I have loaned my friend were purchased in Ireland during my visits there. I was thinking that I would have to go online to buy CDs directly from Ireland. I decided to visit my local B&N to see if they had Celtic music in stock. I was pleased to see that they had a quality collection, although small.

My friend loves this CD! I hope B&N expands their collection of Celtic music.
