The first clue to the poor writing is that the author does not know that Vikings are not Celtic! Although the story had promise it was painful trying to read it

Nope.

I wanted to like the story, but the anachronisms, poor grammar, and lack of development made this a poor short story.

If you wish to be a good author and you wish to write historical romance research and maybe a history class or to wo Yuri ld be a good start. Pills are a no go silver bells on the back of doors not so much. You have many other inaccuracies. I suggest you do a re right.

I thought the book was just ....ok.

OK I don't mind if a book ends on a cliffhanger and I have to buy the next book if it is a FULL book. However I don't consider about 100 pages as a book! What a rip off....I stopped reading it.

One of the most poorly written books I've ever attempted to read. The hideous grammar is only outdone by a total lack of historical reseach. Vikings noshing on potatoes and swilling coffee, seriously? If you have more than a grade school education skip this awful book. Wish I could give zero stars.

I hate how it ended! Like, did she kill him or did she drive the dagger into the ground next to him? I have a feeling that she missed him on purpose because of what he said though. Gonna get the next book soon.

Celtic Viking is the first novella in the Heart of the Battle series by Lexy Timms. I liked the idea behind this story, and I don't think I've read anything fictional with Vikings in it yet, so I was pretty excited about it. However, it didn't grab me, and once it did, it ended. So, that was a major disappointment. I'm not a major history buff, but there were some things that even I knew weren't authentic to the time and culture. For example, I'm pretty sure the Celts didn't say: "I know, right?" There wasn't much plot yet, this was pretty much just an introduction to the main characters. While Erik's character was intriguing, I don't think it was enough to inspire me to read the next book. Celtic Viking by Lexy Timms was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Really didn’t seem like a full book to me . Then to top it off it ended in a cliffhanger and I definitely didn’t like that . It was just disappointing for me to read . I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

This basic outline of this story is solid. I've read all three in this series but only because I had to see where Lexy Timms was going to take it. It could have been SO MUCH BETTER had she stayed within the time period she herself put the action in. If your characters are living in the Ninth Century, they shouldn't use 20th language/slang words. Women in the 800s did not wear bras since they weren't invented yet. This series begs for a restructuring with a strong editor that will keep her on track. And for heaven's sake fix the typos! I couldn't believe it when the word 'luv' was used for 'love.'

Very good plot, lots of potential, but fails to deliver. Only 85 pages. The two main characters are only introduced to each other in the last few pages. It'd be more appropriate to label this as a teaser. So I don't believe I'll buy the next one if I'm to expect the same.

Just as i am getting interested in this book...it ends. Cliff hanger. Ends in a way that makes you think maybe some of the book was somehow cut out. Had to pull up info to realize it is a sequel. I will read the others....was getting really good. If you dont have time to read the others....dont bother...this book hasno ending....looking forward to reading the other two books.

Wish i'd read the reviews first cuz i really hate reading a book that doesn't have an ending and is only a partial story.

It was a cliff hanger for sure so I had to buy the next book.  I really enjoyed the book and it will be interesting to see how the relationship plays out.

Likeable main characters but very short.
