Center Of My Universe

All Music Guide - Steve Huey
Evoking spiritual emotions through the use of lush, enveloping sonic textures, Michelle Tumes' Center of My Universe is an accomplished sophomore effort that refines the sound and style of her debut. Although one can hear echoes of Sarah McLachlan in Tumes' floating, ethereal voice, the closest secular comparison is probably Enya, thanks in part to the lovely, sonically detailed orchestrations of her backing tracks. Fans of Listen will be thrilled with this follow-up, which still sounds like little else on the CCM scene.

The second of an purely anointed artist-

I had heard a few songs on the radio and I was inspired to purchase this album. I am sure glad I did, for I was dramatically uplifted into the heavens by her light tone and downy lyrics. Her songs are written on my heart as divine words of God.

    MTumes ROCKS!!!

This is a must buy cd. If you've heard ''listen'' just a note this album is a bit different. A few of the songs on the album are a bit faster then the ones on ''listen'' But there're still all very amazing. ''Do Ya'' is quite different from any other song she has ever written before. In this song Michelle lets loose. It's got a rocky sound and a great beat. For those of you who like serene music this song is not for you but I for one LOVED it and hope she makes more songs like it. Does anyone know when her next album comes out?

A good follow-up to the outstanding first release ''Listen''

Though not quite as good as her first offering ''Listen'', Michelle Tumes' second album is still outstanding. The style is not entirely consistent throughout, ranging from very gentle to rather upbeat. However, the qualities that made me love Michelle Tumes' first album are also found on this album, and I have little hesitation in recommending it heartily!
