*This review may contain a some small spoilers - also - I have re-read this many times, from weekly in Shojo Beat when it first came to American, to online, to hard copies at the library* I love Ceres. As a series it is so addictive. The storyline is creepy, interesting, violent, and romantic.  The complex story of Aya is the most griping part, as well as how she interacts with all the people in her life. she is battling this inner demon most of the series, an angel named Ceres. However, in this book that isn't much of a plot twist effecting the story.  Aya is strong willed, funny, and brave. She doesn't fear her situation. Many heroines are so Bella like, but she isn't. Aya doesn't just let someone show up to save her. She fights, and if someone happens to offer some help - well she'd be a fool to turn it down. Aya fights when she has to, runs when it is smartest, and doesn't let anything hold her back form what she wants. I like a strong female lead like that. Yuu Watase has a gift for writing. She can make a story encompass so many genres in one. One second you're engrossed in an intense urban fantasy. It snaps and is a comedy (Slap stick and/or sit-com depend on the situation). Suddenly, action and suspense. Violence. Gore. Then the fight scene ends and romance ensues. Back again - horror. You never know what to expect and that is what makes a Watase story-line golden.  Plus, she is the best artist (IMO). I love her style. she has such beautiful eyes, hair, and her bodies are fun. I can't stand One Piece style artwork with all that weird shaped faces on each person and odd body shapes - yuck - pass. I'm an art snob, if I can't take the drawing style - I can't stay for the story. I'm visual. I re-read this story all the time - it is so good. Just a warning, and a little spoiler: this book is not lighthearted. If you have problems with gore, horror, sex, rape or incest don't read this series.

Ceres has a complicated and usual storyline, which makes it so interesting and moving. The characters go through, so much and nothing seems to go right for them. They go through so many trials and tribulations. There is so much emotion and love in this series. It is really moving and when it is over you will be like "WOW!" It is my favorite manga! You fall in love with the characters and everything you are seeing them go through is what sucks you in and keeps you in. Once you start reading you can't stop. I should know. I read this manga series in four days and I'm an incredibly slow reader!!!

I love Yu Watase's work all the way from the gripping story lines, to the awesome art work (which has inspired me to become a more talented artist). You just fall in love with the characters (exspecially Toya).

Two years ago a friend let me borrow her copy of Ceres and I instantly fell in love with the characters...they all go through something that you can possibly relate to, I know no one can say that they are now Celestial Maidens, but the trials of love are something everyone knows about. Each character has something special and they all care about eachother...if you like the dangers of adventrue and the romance of love...this is a series for you.

Ceres is a story that has action, comedy and even romance tucked into the mix. The object is not only to atract one member of sex but both! It has all the makings of a great! When Aya turns 16 her world is turned upside down when she lurns that she has inhereted Angel blood and her whol family is out to kill her for it! She even begins to fall in love with the handsome stranger who, ironically enough happens to work for her family and is to retreave Aya when the time is right. This story has it all and right away as the drama starts i couldn't put it down. When i came to the end of the first book I emediatly whent out in search of the next. This book is awsome!
