I loved this story. I'm constantly going through the author's other stuff to find anything similar. She writes well but, alas, nothing measures up to Chain. I love the idea of starting over on a new world and what all would have to happen to survive. Steel (our lead female) is skilled at starting a village with nothing and building it into a thriving community. This was to me the most different and wonderful aspect of the story. I've not read anything like it and I read a lot. The romance was good. I won't go into the main storyline but I mainly read two kinds of books; zombie and romance. This has no zombies but it made me think of what it would take to start over with nothing. No romance novel has ever given me that. I'd give this 12 stars if I could for sheer originality. I've probably re-read the story 10 times. I loved it.
