However, until now there has been very little, if any, how-to information for beginners unfortunate for such a potentially risky craft.     Inspiration and great quick carve

    This book greatly inspired me and another carver I recently met at the Chetwynd Chainsaw carving event. The heron is a great quick carve step by step.Unlike other carving books that just have pictures, I think this book is great and I thank Hal for inspiring me.

    Nice pictures but little else

    Do not expect much in the how-to area. The only how to is how-to carve the Haron pictured. Other than that the book consist of pictures of the authors work along with other artist work. Also included is chainsaw safety (could be found in the owners manual of the chainsaw). If you want to do some chainsaw carving this is not the book to get you started.
