I often listen to this cd first thing in the morning. I prefer to ease into my day whenever possible & the music on this cd allows me to do just that. I have to say that I am not usually fond of women's voices in chant, having listened to traditional Gregorian chants most of my life. However, this combines the Eastern/Indian type of instruments I have grown to love along with the voice of a gifted singer. It sets the tone of the day & leaves a lovely peaceful feeling in the house. Even the dogs like it :)Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. In my opinion, this is Sophia's best work yet. She clearly responded to a level of inspiration that transports. While all of the tracks are not only beautiful and soul-felt, my favorite is "Chakra Four: Heart of Earth." I didn't think learning the "simple" words of this chant and singing it alone without the glorious background/accompaniment would have much impact. Was I wrong! I find myself "carrying around" the words and melody in my head all day--and this becomes such a blessing at the most needed times. What has also been a blessing is the response when I use it/teach it as part of a prayer service or retreat. Adults and teenagers alike are instantly captured by the profound message of its words, beauty of the melody, and how easily this prayer becomes one's own prayer. Sometimes I also use a hand drum to replicate the "heart beat" sound as we chant, and I believe this brings even greater depth to the message of the words and to their healing. I thought Sophia reached her "peak" with her earlier release "Return," but this endeavor is even better. You don't have to have in-depth knowledge of the chakras to appreciate and benefit from this album. Bravo Sophia! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
