Providing over 25,000 definitions in their historical order of development, this reference classic has been widely regarded for over 50 years as the best single-volume dictionary available for students of Latin. It includes information about grammar, inflection, and pronunciation, as well as copious citations and useful appendices.

Unless you are doing work which requires giant authoritative comprehensive one-volume dictionaries such as Lewis and Short or the Oxford Latin dictionary (OLD), this is the Latin-English dictionary for you.
Despite its small size, rarely will one need to consult a bigger dictionary when reading or translating Latin - this dictionary is amazingly comprehensive and much faster to use (and easier to carry) than the OLD or Lewis and Short and yet much much more comprehensive than small dictionaries. I have almost never found myself frustrated using it. It has no English-to-Latin section - this is really a readers' and translators' dictionary.
