Kagan Wolves, Book 0.5

Sean Reynolds is content wielding his dominant personality as the public face of Kagan Industries. Pack leadership—and all the responsibilities that go with it—don’t interest him. But when alpha-in-waiting Nic Kagan skips town, there’s no one to take on his aging father’s spirit wolf. No one but Sean.

Sean wants none of it, but with his wolf growling in eagerness to fill that void, he heads for the bar in an attempt to drink the beast into submission.

He’d like to ignore the sultry blonde shifter burning up the dance floor with moves that make him painfully aware of the full moon. But when she abruptly disappears, his wolf sends him in hot pursuit. Following the scent of a female he can see in his bed not for a single night, but for a lifetime…

This is a short but sweet introduction to Sean and Jenna of the Kagan Wolf Pack. Sean is fighting against his wolf's instincts of claiming his 'place' within the pack. He refuses to shift, and instead tries to drown out his wolf by drinking at the local bar instead. Everything is going well until he meets a female shifter who pushes all the right buttons, challenging him to act as her equal. A good introduction to these two characters, whilst still leaving you wanting more in general. Definitely recommended as a quick but hot read. * Verified Purchase on Amazon * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Sean Reynolds goes to a bar to blow off steam and gets intrigued with a Tanner she-wolf but when she leaves he comes to save her from others. I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This is the start of Kagan Wolves by the author and a great start to it too. I can't wait to read the next story.

We are introduced to the Kagan wolf pack. It is a time when humans do not know that the wolf-shifters exist. Neighboring rival wolf pack Tanner is ruled by an alpha that believes the strong take what they want and if the weak die, they could not have benefited the pack anyway. Fortunately the Kagan pack protects their weak, but this creates a rival situation between the packs. During the full moon there is a one-hour period where alphas could be toppled and conception could occur. Mating can happen at any time. We meet Sean who has not allowed his wolf out since he gained maturity a few months ago, and on this full moon his wolf is pissed. His friend Nic left the Kagan pack until his father is ready to pass the pack spirit as Nic had fallen in love with Riley a human and tried to mate, the failure had broken Nic. Another friend Noah, from Tanner pack had his mate die days after claiming her. Sean felt he was too young to seal his fate with a mate having seen these failures. Sean goes to the human bar to drink his wolf into submission, when he smells an unmated fertile female who must be from the Tanner pack. Sean is apparently not the only one going through some monthly suffering. She is an arctic wolf, especially strong and perhaps an alpha-in-training. Will Sean succumb to this wolf who seems perfect for him? Will pack issues and/or personal issues intrude? Love this introduction to the Kagan pack world. The strong heroine is especially appealing. The background and setting are perfectly delivered in a bite-sized delightful read. I’m looking forward to continuing this series.

Perfect to fill a moment in time Chance on Love is a teasing tidbit of what’s to come in the Kagan Wolves series. Sean is floundering at controlling his wolf in the aftermath of Nic’s departure and the ever tempting need of his wolf to absorb the spirit wolf of Nic’s father and all the power it will give him. At the same time Sean the man wants nothing to do with leading the pack. He is quite content with being the face of Kagan Industries. So, Sean has a simple plan to thwart his wolf… drink himself into oblivion. His plan doesn’t work out quite the way he planned though. When a pretty little alpha she-wolf from another local pack shows up at the bar he is tempted beyond reason. Jenna Tanner stirs the wolf and the man. When she disappears, he pursues. A hot and fast mating is in order… but will he be pleased with the consequences on the morning after? Will he be able to hold his new mate? This is one wolf that will discover just where his heart lies and what he’s willing to do to see to his mate’s happiness. Chance on Love is a quick read and perfect for those few moments before bed, the waiting room or a lunch hour. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

So somehow a shifter that doesn't want a mate meets another shifter under the influence of the full moon. Sean is fighting his wolf. He doesn't want to be alpha and he doesn't want to be mated. The full moon is a dangerous time and so Sean sedate his wolf with alcohol and tries to stay away from shifter women by hiding out in a regular bar. So what can go wrong? Everything! Sean 's clumsy attempts to show he is a worthy mate could backfire...big time. The story also does a great hob of introducing the two wolf clans and major conflicts that will form the opening books in the series.

Hot & sexy as hell! That’s how I’d describe this novella. It also left me with an ‘awww’ moment at the end. It was the perfect mix. I love the way that Corrigan got right into Sean’s head. It made him so easy to get to know. The quirks that make him tick made him all the more desirable. His intense, driven counterpart was just as much fun to get to know. I enjoyed the instinct driven dynamic between the pair of them. The way that Corrigan uses this dynamic to develop the inner workings of the wolf shifter world was innovative and spot on. All in all, this was a fantastic introduction to the world of the Kagan Wolf Pack. It is a must read for all lovers of shifter romance. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
